    "simple and effective"

    Pros

    If you do not want to become an expert in the gigantically complex Microsoft Operational Systems as you use to cemputer to do something else (writing books e.g.), that's exactly what you need.

    Cons

    You don't have a lot of control on what the program will do once you stated it. Until now it has worked efficiently but I am aware that some risk exists.
