    "Too steep a learning curve"

    July 15, 2010  |   By ken92111

    Version: Ashampoo Cover Studio 2.2.0

    Pros

since its essentially unusable to me-- none.

    Cons

no embedded template library. What's up with that?

    Summary

Why can LightScribe offer a free template labeler that is so simple to use? What I had hoped to get from Ashampoo was a more sophisticated riff on that free utility. It's hardly your fault since I evidently did not read the product description thoroughly enough. I'm happy with your products although Shrink and Burn gives out too many error messages and refuses to shrink and burn DVD's that the free DVD Fab and DVD Shrink have no problem handling. I'm getting skittish about using it since LightScribe capable DVD's are still relatively too expensive to discard for a software anomaly.

    Version: Ashampoo Cover Studio 2.2.0

    Pros

The ability of lightscribe compatability, is a plus, as well as various other formats available for printing. Ease of use is good, and easy navigation. I am very happy with this program. Reasonably priced when I purchased it as well.

    Cons

As yet I have had no negative issues with the software, so no Cons i can think of .

"Fine for the price. It does the job."

    May 6, 2010  |   By lpnalbel

    Version: Ashampoo Cover Studio 2.2.0

    Pros

Ok for those with light scribe printers. As for paper labels, Memorex labels are under "Pressit" and I suspect the Avery labels are under Zweckform number.... I didn't check. Once you get the hang of it, Cover Studio does the job.

    Cons

. Everything is not so obvious . Nearlly gave up from the start . Luckily, I don't give up easily!

    Summary

On opening, the user should be invited to select labels or lightscribe. The labels list shouldn't be mixed with the printers. I finally found the Stomper lablels, but beginning with CD.... misleading to say the least. Little things, yes, but you're on the way to a lovely product.
