Version: Ashampoo Burning Studio 7.1
"Not bad as a disk buring application."
Pros: The GUI is great. It has many features and writes a good CD or DVD. I found the speed average on music CD's and data DVD's and the quality of the finished disk wasn't bad at all. It runs fine on either an "XP" or "Vista" system but so does "Ashampoo Burning Studio 6" and you can get it dirt cheap directly from "Ashampoo". I did find two issues with this application.
Cons: First, it ruined two CD/RW disks. The disk erase feature id terrible. It is as slow as a snail while burning a movie and it doesn't have the ability to fit a standard movie on a standard size DVD. It took well over 90 minutes for it to tell me the file was to big to fit on my DVD and thus, the disk was wasted. It is just not improved enough to be worth the money. I recommend version 6 instead.

"Decent Application, not overly exciting... does the job I need"
Pros: Better than the bloat of Nero for basic needs. Primarily use it for Audio where several free apps fail and where one particular application I use does not support one of my burners. This app fills in nicely to make a quick audio cd burn.
Cons: Support does not exist, but most other companys have the same issue (including and especially Nero). I had an issue with a DVD+R not closing and failing on the verifcation when I tried to burn a good data image. The disc was fine (I closed it with another tool and verified it with ImgBurn). It's been over a week since I provided the detail to Ashampoo and nothing.
