    "Ashampoo burning studio free"

    January 27, 2013  |   By R.G.L

Version: Ashampoo Burning Studio Free 6.82

    Pros

    Free and available.

    Cons

Only downloaded it to try it out, as I already have paid for Ashampoo Burning Studio software.
Do not download it this is full of adverts and free games programmes you do not want and are extremely difficult to get rid of.
Ashampoo never used to be like this is have there been any organizational changes to the company ?

    Summary

    Not worth the aggravation.

    "I Like It!"

    January 17, 2013  |   By beepimgn

Version: Ashampoo Burning Studio Free 6.82

    Pros

Simple to use and it does what I want it to do with no problems.
I have other programs by this company and that is why I chose this one.

    Cons

Just be very careful when downloading and installing. Read EVERYTHING and only agree to the actual program and you won't have any problems with unwanted things.

"Does what it says but read everything in the install!"

    January 1, 2013  |   By Originalwilbour

Version: Ashampoo Burning Studio Free 6.81

    Pros

    Small app for Windows 8
Simple and easy to use interface

    Cons

Tries to install other toolbars and search engines
Making backup Audio CD's seems to take for ever

    Summary

Be very careful when installing this software. It defaults to installing unwanted items but you always have the option to turn of the auto install. This just reminds us to ALWAYS read what we agree to in the install process of programs. Use the custom install and remove the check marks for the unwanted changes. Nothing happens without your knowledge if you actually read the instructions.

    "Be Careful"

    December 27, 2012  |   By agxsamuels

Version: Ashampoo Burning Studio Free 6.81

    Pros

It works well for burning and finalizing all types of disc formats.

    Cons

Installs unwanted programs without your knowledge.

    Summary

I wanted a more extensive program for burning discs. After installing Ashampoo Burning Studio, I burned a few test discs and every thing went well. The program performed as stated. However, after I later opened my browser, I discovered that Ashampoo had changed my settings, including installing it's own toolbar. I have been fighting a a loosing battle to get everything back the way it was. I guess even free comes with it's price.

    "Not worth it"

    December 25, 2012  |   By CookieVonB

Version: Ashampoo Burning Studio Free 6.81

    Pros

I didn't keep it long enough to find out

    Cons

installs at least 4 unwanted programs with download

    Summary

the number of stars is a reflection on my opinion of a program that installs unwanted, unneeded and unannounced BS toolbars and trackers onto your computer when you download this program.
It wasn't hard to figure out how to use it but for what I wanted, it didn't work. I wanted something similar to the DVD burner program that came with Windows Vista but I cannot yet figure out or find on Windows 8. This program was not for me.

"Audio great, does FLAC! but video DVDs PitA"

    December 17, 2012  |   By bigjilm

Version: Ashampoo Burning Studio Free 6.81

    Pros

This is the first freeware I've tried that successfully burnt an audio CD from FLAC. Five stars for that, but

    Cons

Minus half a star for inability to burn a video DVD in one step. (For that I recommend Sothink Movie DVD Maker, also available on CNET.)

    Summary

Pretty awesome unless you need a one-step video DVD burner. Grains of salt: I am, obviously, pretty lazy, and am just cranky that I can't find one free download that does every single thing I might ever want. Admitting my unrealistic expectations, this is a great program.

    "Good Software"

    November 23, 2012  |   By Lloyd_Hayes

Version: Ashampoo Burning Studio Free 6.81

    Pros

Ashampoo makes previous versions of their software available free with they upgrade to a new version with more or better features. This is not crippleware.

    Cons

Nothing major. Beware of C/net's advertising software in the installer.

    Summary

I have dealt with Ashampoo for many years. Their software is always good. However, there is usually better software available. But they always pack a lot into their software, so you always get your money's worth. Their prices on their latest software is negotiable. However, the software that your purchased last year from them will probably be free this year. And they may have a new version to purchase a month after you purchased your version.

In general, this a good and fair company to deal with. I recommend this company's products and software.

    Updated on Nov 23, 2012

This is an older version of their software so it is completely free and not crippled in any way.

    Pros

    Did the burning

    Cons

No option selections to set cd/dvd to finalize disk or create a bootable disk except done automatically for songs.

Free is as low as you can get software so you have to pay up.

    "I like it!"

    September 15, 2012  |   By kcarr007

Version: Ashampoo Burning Studio Free 6.81

    Pros

    It's everything I need.

    Cons

Maybe it's too good as a free version when they are trying get us to upgrade to the paid version. Just my opinion.. :~D

    Summary

Easy to use, I prefer it over windows. No problem when I'm adding files to a disk that is already being used. Windows always gave me problems, stating that the disk was already full when it wasn't.
