No bloatware will be downloaded if you read all the sceens during the download process. Ashampoo clearly lays out what is being downloaded and gives you the option to un-check what you don't want. But you need to READ ALL the download screens and act accordingly. USE THE "CUSTOM" INSTALL METHOD.Cons

easy to install, easy to use, works fast, works well on windows 98, windows xp and windows 7 with no problems.

i really do not have any other than they will install a tool bar and default home page/ but if you actually read as you install it you can tell the install to not ad tool bar or home page. some people just click away without reading then they end up with the tool bar and home page. but if you read as you install you can stop all that.

i used this program from the time of the original release before it was free. i downloaded this free version to show my friends how good it is so they can download it for them selves. they usually end up buying a newer version down the road. i have been using ashampoo software for many years and i own all the newest versions of all their software and is well worth the money and all their programs work well with each other. get this you will love it.

The user interface is instantly understandable and well organized, with attractive icons. I was able to select my burn options during the setup process for each DVD: personally I prefer to select a slower write speed because high speed is when these burners mess up.
(If your burner doesn't seem to be doing what it's supposed to, then it's almost always the write speed that's the culprit!!)
I want to copy files and images: I don't know how this program performs for video - but for my purposes it's REALLY a GOOD program and exactly what I wanted.
Installed easily on my Win7 system. It does have so-called "bloatware" but if you **PAY ATTENTION** during the installation process, you do not have to install any of that (toolbar and news updates.) It CLEARLY explains your options during installation, which I think is very polite of them to do that. (The reviews that complain about the toolbar don't have a good reason to complain, IMO.)Cons
None. It's perfect! I've been impressed with other Ashampoo products that I've used, as well.
Summary
For burning files to CD or DVD, this is a wonderful utility. I can't comment on video because I haven't tried it and I don't work with any videos. I was willing to try Ashampoo Burning Studio because I have their Photo Commander and I really like it, so I know their software is good quality with all the important features. This Burning Studio program lived up to my expectations. Thank you to the developers!

You download this (IMHO) at your own risk. I STRONGLY recommend if you need this app to look around the internet for opensource "InfraRecorder". (A) It works (B) It doesn't install a bunch of extra crap that you will likely consider malware.

Too much junk added with Ashampoo. Specifically checked I did not want various add-ons. Ashampoo ignored my instructions and I ended up with a bunch of non requested crap; worst being Conduit. Efforts to remove Conduit via my Control Panel, Kingsfoft PC Doctor, CCleaner, etc. were in vain. Eventually downloaded Revo Uninstaller and I got rid of Conduit (I hope).
Summary
Conduit, etc. problems left a "bad taste in my mouth" so I ended up un-installing Ashampoo altogether.
