"You'll love it even if you don't play RPGs"
Pros: I'm not your typical RPG player, i.e. I'm female and I have a life :-). But this game sucked me in. Playing is incredibly easy -- there are enough options to make things fun, but not so many that it gets too complicated. Graphics are highly pleasing and the music, especially the main title, is top-notch.
However, the best part is -- it's funny! Tongue-in-cheek, satirical humor is threaded throughout the whole game. An early sample (paraphrased):
King: The Legendary Hero shall be a brown-haired youth in the service of the king.
Duncan: Why me? That describes 70% of the castle.
King: And he shall be good at math.
...And it just gets better from there as the terrific story unfolds. Where else can you discuss quantum physics with wheelbarrows?
Cons: Now I have to buy Arvale II: Ocean of Time. Curse you, PDAMill, for eating up my pocket money!

"Its great, but Ocean of time is better"
Pros: PDAmill has done an awsome job creating games for the PocketPC. THis includes Arvale: Journey of illusion. However, I think that ArvaleII: Ocan of time is a much better investment. The game-play is much smoother and its much easier to navagate thru the world. Get both games if you want, but Avrale II is much better.
Cons: In this game, when you enter a cave or temple, there are hidden monsters. This can be bad because there isnt an auto-heal feature. YOu never know when you will run into a monster and get taken out in the first blow. Greaphics are also much slower on this compared to Arvale II. All-in-all, i think this game is great, but spend the bucks on Arvale II:Ocean of time. You dont need to play Journey of Illusion to know how to play Ocean of time

"This Game compares with Zelda easily."
Pros: It has great grapghics and lots of interactions; which is rare in an RPG for a pocket PC.
