Version: Argus Surveillance DVR 4.0
"A solid, stable, multi camera surveillance solution"
Pros: Easy to set up. Works with every brand of camera I tried seamlessly. Has every feature you could want in a multi camera surveillance solution. Free if you can live with the demo flags.
Cons: NONE. So easy to set up you dont need tech support. Automatically resets cameras that trip offline. Just a great worry-free solution.

"will not work with vista 64, it seems"
Pros: tempting offer, might work w/ tv card analog composite input to a cheap security camera
Cons: downloaded and installed but fails to start, just like PYS software Active Web Cam.
Summary: user manual says works with vista 32, but i have 64. so much for being vista ready. argus website support form crashed Firefox 3.5 on me, so can not ask them for support! tooo bad read more

Cons: Downloaded gives windows error.

"Great software, terrible Customer Service"
Pros: Great at what it claims to do. Very detailed operation and you can set each camera with an great deal of variables. Records great, allows remote access with security. Really good product.
Cons: I purchased this software, had a system meltdown.The company had no records of my transaction and refused to help me locate my serial number to remove the DEMO logo. Basic english..Customer service sucks.
Summary: If you dont mind the runaround trying to fix problems with either your account or trying,,and I mean TRYING to contact someone to get an answer, which you will not get after 23 emails and no response, then the product is actually a great and usefull ... read more
