"Wasted days and wasted nights...and wasted money."

    December 08, 2013   |   By swanjame

    Version: ArcSoft TotalMedia Theatre 6.5.1.150

    Pros

It played fine for a while, until I updated it.

    Cons

I paid for the 6.0 version not long ago and it was working fine. I got notification that an update to 6.5 was available so I updated. After I got half way through the first Blu-Ray the program crashed, never to load Blu-Ray again. I then played a DVD which worked fine until I selected new features like simHD at which point my whole computer crashed. From that point forward, the simple act of starting the program would crash my computer. I tried a program repair and then a clean reinstall. I can only play DVDs now, and they are herky-jerky.

    Summary

Until four days ago I loved this program. I can truthfully say that the 6.5 version is, to me, garbage.

ArcSoft TotalMedia Theatre is a complete media player that brings all the elements one need to play Blu-rays, DVDs, HD movies or online videos.

Appearance attracts power users who generally look for an easy-to-use program.

The menu bar is on the upper part of TotalMedia. Configure 3D stereo settings (including the selection of a display), Audio / Video Center.

In the Audio/Video Center there are five different video effects and you can adjust brightness, contrast, hue and saturation.

In the Settings section you can configure user interface language, set the path for captured images and bookmarks, adjust the parental control level.
Media Manager, access the library, shared content, online content from YouTube.

TotalMedia mainly focuses on playing Blu-rays, and it does so wonderfully. Also, navigating through the video is easily done.

All in all, ArcSoft TotalMedia Theatre has strong features for a media player, especially when it comes to playing Blu-Rays.

    I personally satisfied.

"Works with Windows 7 after tweaking"

    June 10, 2013   |   By Jay M

Version: ArcSoft TotalMedia Theatre 6 6.0.1.119

    Pros

This is a good blu-ray player for PC. I have it on Windows 7 and it performs well, with good features and excellent image and audio quality.

    Cons

The program required a certain amount of setting adjustment to work properly. I was getting image distortion (heavy pixelation) and horribly distorted audio. After quite a bit of internet searching for answers, and trial and error on my own, I found that --in least in my case-- you need to disable Hardware Accelertion and Windows Aero, on the AV Center drop-down menu. Now it works great, and integrates into Window Media Center so you can control it with a remote

    Summary

Somewhat pricy, but worth at least the free trial. Some PC owners may need to change settings to make it perform properly.

    March 22, 2013   |   By x-osn

    Version: ArcSoft TotalMedia Theatre 5.3

    Pros

Simple to deploy/use! Also this product integrates within the Windows 8 Media Center if you do install the TotalMedia Theatre 6 only after the Windows Media Center component has been installed!

    Cons

So far - there aren't any!

    Summary

    Excellent product!

"Crash my computer with Windows 8. Couldn't recover!"

    March 18, 2013   |   By kamenoff

    Version: ArcSoft TotalMedia Theatre 5.3

    Pros

I cannot tell. Very disappointed. Had a lot of expectation of this SW but apparently is very unsatble.

    Cons

Crashes systems. I would even thinking to try again. If you want to try to crash your computer this is probably the fastests way (Windows 8 running)

    Summary

    Very disappointing experience.

    "Didn't Work for Blu-Ray"

    October 01, 2011   |   By bokonon76

Version: ArcSoft TotalMedia Theatre Platinum 5.0.1.87

    Pros

it installed ok. Seemed to start playing and then kept freezing

    Cons

    Wouldn't play my blu-ray movie.

    Summary

After this I uninstalled it and installed Cyberlink PowerDVD and it played my Blu-ray disc flawlessly. I really wanted to find an alternative to Cyberlink for Blu-ray, bet this software clearly couldn't cut it.
