ApproveIt Desktop 5.8.2 (ADT 5.8.2) enables users to approve, verify and securely print documents, forms, letters and spreadsheets. ADT 5.8.2 uses Silanis Intelligent Signature Technology, which is a form of electronic signature developed by Silanis and is based on digital signature technology. The Silanis Intelligent Signature Technology electronically signs the content of documents or forms that are presented to the user in Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Reader, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, PureEdge ICS Designer and Viewer, Adobe Form Designer and Client and Adobe Accelio Classic FormFlow Designer and Filler. Upon signing a document or form with ApproveIt Desktop, the electronic signature and audit trail information is embedded within the structure of the document or form and becomes a permanent part of it, much like a wet ink signature on paper.

ADT 5.8.2 enables users to verify and add their electronic signature to documents using several different devices. The devices include a signature tablet which can be used to add a real time signature, a Common Access Card (CAC) or Smart Card, other X.509 v3 Security Certificates or a Captured Signature file (call a CPS file or ePersona).
