"A program that makes transferring music difficult......"

    May 6, 2012  |   By danaman

    Version: Apple iTunes 10.6.1

    Pros

    not one thing

    Cons

80 megabytes..... for a program that makes transferring music more difficult.Horrid GUI for 80 megabytes, boggs computer down, stays on your pc after you uninstall it, constantly checks for updates even if you turn them off, they force the software on you, everything you try to do their is some kind of roadblock you will run into that will waste more and more of your time instead of just dragging and dropping files. your typical garbage mac software.

    Summary

This program is and always has been a complete blunder.I am a computer tech and this program is rated almost 5 stars!!! ha why because it is the only thing that will work with ipod garbage.... do yourself a favor get anything besides Icrap if you want something that will cost less probably have more features and will be plug and play drag and drop your files and go.

    "Disturbing and invasive"

    May 1, 2012  |   By Lancece

    Version: Apple iTunes 10.6.1

    Pros

I only use it to download and listen to podcasts

    Cons

took 45 minutes to download and install - needed a PC restart - what program would ask you to restart PC after install these days?

slow to load up each time.

Already asked whether it wants to "Wipe and sync" my iPhone a couple of occasions.

DO NOT enable WiFi sync as this thing will stalk you out and sync with your device with or without your consent.

    Summary

Apart from a decent podcast downloader and podcast player, iTunes is not much else than inflated air under pressure under the umbrella of the huge Apple.

Thank goodness there are some alternatives such as copytrans manager available out there which I have been using to add and move songs and apps to my iPhone in a much swifter and non-invasive way.

    "Aggressive bloatware"

    April 10, 2012  |   By pjcamp

    Version: Apple iTunes 10.6.1

    Pros

    None that I can see

    Cons

    Obtuse, unintuitive interface
    Apple's drive to control everything

    Summary

I used this back when I had an iPod. Hated the iPod. It was unstable, unintuitive and in many respects did not operate as Apple claimed. Hated iTunes even more. It aggressively asserted control over all media files on my PC and is the only piece of software I've ever seen where deleting files from the iPod didn't actually result in their deletion. They may have changed that behavior since, but I don't care. Never buying another Apple product.
