  "Apple's Worst product"

  Pros

  You can sync music across all Apple devices

  Cons

  1 Resource hungry.
  2 Asks you for a huge update almost every month. Do we need so many updates ?
  3 Every time you connect your iPhone/iPad to it..it halts for a minute before you can do anything. Every time you press a new tab..it again waits for a minute.
  4 Sync - This is the most inscrutable button. Sometimes it copies stuff from the iPhone to iTunes (on my PC). Sometimes from my PC to the iPhone. Sometimes it deletes stuff from either !!
  5 The iTunes library is impossible to manage. Impossible to export or import a song/songs from my "Music" folder into iTunes.
  6 If I re-organize songs in my Music folder, iTunes retains null pointers to the old locations and creates a duplicate entry for the song.
  7 In a an attempt to "manage and control" your purchased songs, iTunes sucks it it's database. I find it impossible to organize purchased songs with others in "Music" directory.

  Summary

  It's the one piece of software that's keeping me from buying a Mac.

  "Bloated, but not a bad piece of software"

  Pros

  Great, especially if you own a Mac
  Good user interface, easy to use
  Full featured

  Cons

  Painfully slow to open on Windows
  Mac-like skin doesn't fit in with Windows and is unnecessary
  No iTunes for Linux

  Summary

  Apple's ubiquitous music player is great on Mac, but lacks in many ways when it comes to Windows

  "SLow, resource hungry, ipad/phone you got no choice!"

  Pros

  Airplay (to airports even multiple works well)
  Library organisation is good

  Cons

  Slow boot time
  Too much RAM/CPU usage
  itunes match is rubbish DO NOT BUY IT
  Genius/Match.Sync very intrusive and slow

  I wish I could use something else but I have an ipad and iphone!

  "Since iTunes 10.0, audio playback is choppy."

  Pros

  The only piece of software that is compatible with iPod.

  Cons

  * Choppy playback
  * HUGE download package - iTunes, Quick Time, Bonjour, Portable device manager...
  * Quick Time has little functionality unless you pay for PRO
  * Each update takes no less than fifteen minutes
  * Host of background processes that hog resources and bandwidth

  Summary

  If you have got an iPod, like everyone else, you're stuck with little choice.

  "Big Bang Media Manager For The $$Free$$"

  Takes care of all your music, vids, books and movies in one place.

  Cons

  Don't like the difficulty rating for adding, copying and storing non APPLE purchased items.

  I will adapt to it now that I have joined the APPLE MacBook Pro family.
