"Use the prior version"
Pros
Pros are outweighed by a very bog con.
Cons
After updating Safari to 5.14 all of buy bookmarks and items on the bookmarks bar had disappeared. I am unable to import bookmarks from Chrome or Firefox as the bookmarks files (.plst and/or html) are grayed out. I exported b bookmarks from Chrome and that file was also grayed out. I went back to my last backed up copy and tried replacing the new Bookmarks.plist file with the one from backup. Safari 5.1.4 did not recognize the new file. Bottom line, I am left with a new version of Safari with none of my previous bookmarks available.
As a result my rating for this vex ion of Safari is one star. The absence of earlier b bookmarks makes it basically useless. I am one of those people that liked Safari. It had its quirks, but basically it was OK. The new version is not.
