I have been using AppDelete for close to a year. It does a thorough job of removing all of the files associated with any app that I want to delete.
As a 27-year DOS and Windows user, I was accustomed to having the ability to completely remove applications with an OS utility. It was still necessary at times to scour the registry. When I switched to a Mac and OS X two plus years ago, I realized that the ability to completely delete apps did not exist in this OS. Deleting the app did not remove all associated files, and locating them was sometimes tedious. I was very happy to find AppDelete, and have been using it successfully ever since. -
"Pros and cons"

I tested this app (along with several other similar apps) and found it to be decent. In the end I decided on CleanApp and have been happy with my choice.
Still, the price is very reasonable and the developer seems decent and responsive: two very good reasons to support this app. -
"Multiple users on your Mac? Keep looking..."
Version: AppDelete 3.0.1

AppDelete is one of several applications that promise to delete apps and all of their associated support files that are often placed in the Library. There are two libraries in which these can be found... the root Library (/Library) and the user Library (~/Library). AppDelete does a fair job of finding and removing many such files from both locations, although it does not catch everything. In fact, I have yet to find an application capable of catching everything flawlessly. Case in point... if you use Firefox, there is a folder named "Mozilla" in /Library/Application Support that belongs to Firefox but remains in place after using AppDelete or any other similar program. I've got dozens of other apps with folders there that don't get tagged for removal.
Where AppDelete really fails though is its inability to delete the support files for other users on your system. If you have multiple users on your computer and more than one has used the app you are looking to delete, then only the support files on YOUR user account will get deleted. Everyone else's stay put. To date, I've only found one piece of software with this feature that will delete the support files for all users if desired... TinkerTool System. And even that one will miss the same files in /Library as I described above. They all do.
So bottom line? AppDelete is a fine choice for single-user systems but essentially useless for multi-user systems. It is convenient to use and the price is lower than other comparable software, so it may be a fine fit for some people. Just don't kid yourself into believing it will delete ALL support files for everything... it doesn't. -

"Crashes consistently"
Version: AppDelete 3.0
Summary

Title says it all: it crashes every time after deleting files. Or... did it delete them? Or did it delete half of them? In what condition is my system after this software crashes half way through a cleanup?
