"Wonderful Program. Ignore The IDIOTIC Reviews."
Version: AnyReader 2.3
Pros
This program works exactly as described. I was trying to make a back up copy of a DVD that was horribly damaged by one of my idiotic friends who thinks it's funny to use my media as frisbees. Needless to say, it would no longer work in my DVD player. I tried several other programs, but they all came to a dead stop around 40-50% because of a cyclic data error and unreadability. I bought this program and tried one more time and it recovered the date and the disc now works great and plays in my DVD player again. This is the only program able to go past the point that other programs stop at when they come to "errors". IsoBuster didn't even work this well and I used to use that program a lot, but this program has now taken the thrown. Now, onto the ridiculous people that rated this program:
If you're completely incapable of running a computer effectively, you should have your privilege of making stupid reviews for a program revoked. It should be against the law for people to rate programs poorly because of their own lackluster computer skills and inability to discern program errors with possible *gasp* other computer problems. Anyway...
To the guy who's computer crashed...something is wrong with your computer. I run this program on an older laptop with several other programs running at the same time and it did not crash a single time. It did now freeze. It did not slow down at any point during the recovery process. Your review is ridiculous.
To the guy talking about the inaccuracy of the date size summary...that didn't happen to me either. I don't know what you're talking about.
Cons
No complaints here. The program is excellent.

"It has a big, big bug. Well, I guess it is a bug, right?"
Version: AnyReader 2.3
Pros
Sounds simple to use, since a wizard guides you. But charmful is not enough.
Cons
It sees a 4gb+ file on a DVD-R disc as a 180mb file. It reads it perfectly, recovers it... but it only recovers 180mb, thus. Too bad. I didn't try it in other situations (HDD recovery, or other media) but I dismissed it right away.

"Quick Try"
Version: AnyReader 2
Pros
I had a bad file (CRC error) on a floppy with a friend's stories in word processor format from 1994-1997. I was unable to recover with Windows. AnyReader found three bad sectors but recovered the data from those sectors. As I expected, it recovered all the text (there's probably a bad char or two from the actual error but I haven't noticed it yet). Worked great, easy to use. Might not work as well on other file types but text is easy.
Cons
The file limitation (710k) means you can't do a fair evaluation on one file or disk, but a demo has to stop somewhere. Mine was less than that so I was able to verify it and will buy it.
