"Very happy with its features and output quality"

    March 18, 2007  |   By EyeSpyThy

    Version: Any to Icon 3.32

    Pros

The program is very easy to use, and allows you to create icons of various sizes, various colour depths, and with or without transparency. I tried about six icon programs and finally decided this was the one. Very happy with my decision. I like the fact that you can use PayPal to purchase it.

    Cons

The trial version restricts you to 30 icon creations before locking you out. A 30-day trial would be better.

"Excellent program to convert bitmaps to icons"

    May 17, 2006  |   By Vzac

    Version: Any to Icon 3.3

    Pros

I had a few 24x24 pixels bitmaps that I made using Adobe Photoshop. All of the bitmaps had a standard RGB 192, 192, 192 (Silver) colored background. I wanted a software to convert these bitmaps to icons.

Here are the features I liked:

    1. It has an "As Is" option to keep the size and color depth of the icon same as the source bitmap.

    2. You can specify the color to make transparent. Moreover, you can instruct the program to use the color of one of the corner pixels.

    3. You can add an entire folder along with all its sub-folders for conversion in one go.

It did what I wanted to do and it did it exceedingly well.

    "ONE OF THE BEST..."

    March 22, 2006  |   By DonChino

    Version: Any to Icon 3.3

    Pros

I have tried VARIOUS Icon Converter programs but this one had the BEST ICON quality after conversion from PNG. Also, MANY Icon Converters only create ONE SIZE ICO files while this one allows you to check off 16X16, 24X24, 48X48, etc and save them all at once into ONE FILE. DEFINITELY one of the best because it even rebuilds the thumbnail, allows BATCH processing, and even command line execution...

    Cons

The only CON I can think of is that you cannot select WHICH image is used in the thumbnail preview. It automatically uses the SMALLEST ICON image as the default thumbnail preview which is not pretty if you include 16X16 resolutions in a 48X48 Icon file...

"Easy, Fast and exact fit of your source images"

    September 30, 2005  |   By andrespaez

    Version: Any to Icon 3.2

    Pros

We are a design group and we liked to create transparent, with shadows and antialiased Windows icons from PNG images created in Macromedia Fireworks and Adobe Photoshop with transparent background. The results were perfect!

You don't have to involucrate with Alpha channels because in 3 easy steps you obtain an icon in multiple sizes (16x16, 32x32, etc) and multiple color depths (16, 256, 32 bit)

    Cons

    User interface... who cares
