Summary
Doesnt matter how good it is if it crashes every time it is run. It should not require administrator access to convert an icon, so I didnt try giving it any. If it DOES then it is doing something it shouldnt.

There is a special price advertised for ordering during the first 7 days of the trial period but when I got ready to order there was no discount applied, in fact a mandatory purchase to extend the download period added $3.45 to my order. I cancelled.
Summary
I could not download a trial from cnet.com. Using I/E the download opened in DreamWeaver and using FireFox it opened Excel. I had to download (easy) from software company's site www.UrbanTwilight.com. There is a special price advertised ($10.49) for ordering during the first 7 days of the trial period but when I got ready to order there was no discount applied, in fact a mandatory purchase to extend the download period added $3.45 to my order. There was no way to contact Urban Twilight. Their online e-mail form did not work using either I/E or F/F. There is no telephone number listed. I ended up not placing an order even though I like the software.

Can make an icon from almost any image format.
Cons
Although this program can make an icon, the icon isn't necessarily of good quality. Since the documentation for this software is very limited, you learn how to use it mostly through trial and error. If you think you might want to purchase this program, be sure you throughly test it during the 30 day trial period. Once you buy it there are no refunds.

"Easy!"

I am not very experienced with graphics, picture editing or anything like that but I had to make Icons for a project. I had no time to go through a bunch of incomprehensible menus so I was happy to see that this app has an easy menu, many hints and description and even a quick step-by-step Wizard. This really helped me out.
Cons
The price reduction offer was a little bit too short .

"Finally, Icon software that is worthy!"

Pros
Simple, easy to use menu and the program is quick to create icons from whatever picture is selected. It says any picture to icon, and they mean it! FINALLY! An icon software that does what it says and hasn't crashed yet on XP Home SP2 (crossing fingers, knock on wood).
Cons
It takes a bit to load, could use a boost. There are so many options that it is very easy to get confused at first, but experimentation with all the settings will provide the experience needed to create better icons.

Absolutely what I was looking for, plus a really neat self-explanatory user interface and a cool wizard style mode. I really love that tool.
