Version: Anvil Studio 2008.09.04
"Not what it seems"
Pros: A nice barely usable presentation of what you might do with a paid version.
Cons: See summary. No uninstall. One track for one minute is practically useless for evaluating software.
Summary: At the end of the instruction page is this quote:
"The free version of Anvil Studio limits you to a single audio track, that can last no longer than 1 minute." The publishers description and "no limitations" led me to believe more than this could be done. I removed the software immediately. I needed 2 to 4 track audio for 3 minutes to cover a sound effects project while my studio was down. This would likely become my backup or possibly my primary software for this type of project had it done what I needed. If you demand less of software this may be all you need.

RE:" Mainly for editing MIDI files that you can add..." - Sorry, but this is advertised as a free, no-limitations application claimed to "Multi-track record, compose, edit, and mix music using MIDI, digital audio, and sampled loops", NOT "just" a MIDI editor...
The ONLY reason this "free" version exists is to influence your purchasing decision, i.e, advertising. -
