Version: Anonymizer Anonymous Surfing 6
"Stay Away From This Product, even the Trial Version!"
Pros: I'm still looking to find something good here.
Cons: There's so many problems/issues here, where do I start!
1: The program creates an ASP.NET account
under Windows! Why and for what reason
if you're not using MS .NET programs.
Only the computer owner should be able
to do this!
2: Why such a short trial period ?!? Most
other software gives you a few weeks.
This one is only 7 days!
3: THIS IS THE WORST ISSUE! After
installing the program, and you're
online, the entire system stops to
CRAWL while moving from one website to
another. This is on a 1GHZ, 512meg
system.
4: Once you decide you don't want this
product, there's NO un-install function
within the program to get rid of it!
WHY !?!
Overall rating: Stay Away!

I would think the Anonymizer account is representative of the updates for the program.
But I had to join under my own steam it wasnt an automatic signup.
Their is also a 30 day trial on the latest version so I dont know which one you were using.?
I did find it slowing down considerably and in some cases the sites I was visiting timed out?
I found it very easy to uninstall I just went to add and remove programs and uninstalled it no trouble there.
Overall I think you need a very quick ADSL service or cable connection for this to work well. Just my opinion I am also still looking for better product to suit my needs.

I'm not sure this comment is even referring to Anonymous Surfing because:
1. The trial is for 30 days, not 7.
2. I've got Anonymous Surfing installed on a few computers and it hasn't slowed them down.
3. There is an uninstall using the Windows add/delete programs.
Maybe this is just a competitor that can't handle good, healthy competition, I don't know. I like Anonymous Surfing and haven't had any problems with it at all. I feel much safer when doing my banking and other transactions online using it and, as I mentioned, haven't noticed a slow down at all.
