    "very inconsistant"

    March 17, 2009  |   By david93950

    Pros

bones feature is very easy to use although the bones can move parts you didnt want to move but can be corrected sometimes . this is an okay software for simple animation.dont expect that it can provide multiple characters in one scene.

    Cons

all the features are very eradic. the color fill especially and the auto fill and auto close features dont always work. you cant do much with this software its very limited. its okay for the price as a beginner animation toy.I found it frustrating .

    Summary

I expected this to be a fun animation device, instead I spent hours developing failed animations that looked terrible after I downloaded them to Youtube. all the charachters have to be either facing front or facing sideways. its almost impossible to turn figures sideways and still use the bones. and overlapping images never work right. the layers never worked the way they were supposed to work, sometimes they did , sometimes they didnt. very inconsistant.and you cant simply draw pictures like stick figures because this program uses shapes only.you can alter the shapes as many ways as possible but you still have to use shapes to create charachters, you cant just draw lines unless they are very thick lines. the auto fill for filling spaces with color is very inconsistant.you can only fill spaces with color and then alter the variations, like soft edge or gradient but to only one image per frame, as I said , its very limited. the only way to draw a line is with their pencil or shaper tools and there is NO eraser offered. you have to delete any line you didnt want. most other simple programs like this at least offer a choice between a pencil or brush and an ERASER. also you cant insert extra frames in the timeline to extend a sequence once the timeline is filled with keyframes and any image you alter after frame 1 will become distorted from then on. this I found extremely frustrating. if you want to change a part of a charachter into the movie you have to go back and fix every single frame and then the movie is all messed up and arm and leg movements are twisted and morphed. so its faster to just start all over. then to try to fix it.
