Even if you're not a huge fan of Japanese anime, you're still likely to have a lot of fun with this polished bowling sim. Anime Bowling Babes offers a wide range of gameplay options. You can play in exhibition matches against the computer or up to three other humans, or you can choose to compete in a tournament. The characers, are, of course, anime-style female characters, each of which have different strengths on the lane. While we're on the subject of lanes, we're glad to say the game offers a few different ones, and also allows you to select what style of pins you want to knock over. Each lane has a different soundtrack, but you can always turn the music and realistic sound effects down.
Presentation and learning curve is where Anime Bowling Babes excels. Not only are the 3D graphics highly detailed, but the multiple camera angles lend an almost cinematic feel to the experience. You line up your shot with the mouse, hit the power meter at the right time, then choose whether to apply spin. After that the camera will pan back and either show you the roll from behind your character or right up close on the lane. If we had to complain at all about this game, it would be because of the short one-hour trial period. But on just about every count, we can enthusiastically recommend downloading Anime Bowling Babes.

Version: Anime Bowling Babes 1
Pros: Fun, cutsey style. Game play is addicting. Smooth controls. Relatively small client size for the fullness of the game.
Cons: The graphics are good but I expected a bit more. My favorite download from Cnet is Albatross18, and this looks a bit like a bad rip-off of that game. But for a bowling game, it's quite imaginative, so I don't have too much negative comments about this game.

"A fantastic game with little lag"
Pros: I think this game is fantastic! The screen is clear with minimal lag. The controls are super, easy to use.
Cons: I think there should be a one-week trial, not an hour, because this game is too good. To run well, you need very minimal programs running and a recent, and good, video card.
