    "Great simple intuitive program."

    June 10, 2013  |   By tomballenger

    Version: Angry IP Scanner 3.2

    Pros

Small and very easy to use.

    Cons

Some security programs have flagged it as a virus. I suspect like any tool it can be misused but I have never had a problem with it.

"Great free tool, use it all the time..."

    December 6, 2012  |   By mgbrian17

    Version: Angry IP Scanner 2.21

    Pros

Small file size, no installation. Just run it.

    Cons

Mainly that just about every virus scanner there is identifies it as a virus...very annoying. I have been using it for years and this started happening in the last few and I have to turn virus scan off sometimes just to run it.

    "Alright, but no virus/malware"

    December 30, 2011  |   By Jbone1337

    Version: Angry IP Scanner 2.21

    Pros

    -leightweight
-Can perform pings and port scans

    Cons

-Not as good as other software
    -Outdated

    Summary

    Does not contain a virus/malware...
you people really rely on you **** AV software way too much, and when it tells you something you just automatically believe it w/o contest... Maybe thats why people like AVG so much, it just calls every fking thing a virus...

This software is a hacktool, so AV software flags it. As its pretty much used mostly for illegal purposes. Really, how much use do you have to ping and port scan your own private network lol?

"If this is a bad download why is it still here?!? CNET?"

    June 21, 2011  |   By cycodave

    Version: Angry IP Scanner 2.21

    Pros

Did not download due to all recent posts that it contains a virus

    Cons

Did not download due to all recent posts that it contains a virus

    Summary

Based on all recent posts who would even consider trying this software. But again, if this contains a virus, why is CNET still making it available to download?!? You say the software is Adware free but guess there is no claim to virus free? Either somebody needs to pull it from the site or confirm it is not bad and then post a formal/official msg stating it is safe for download. I know you guys don't have time to test every piece of software that comes your way but if that many posts are saying the same thing (VIRUS being the key word) then somebody is not doing their job to protect your loyal users and supporters by investigating the issue then handling it. One more thing while I am at it that I just noticed when I hit submit. Your require a star rating to be placed before it is submitted but if you never download ithow are you suppost to rate it.? This seems like it can hose over some sfotware maker if people just hit one star and never loaded and tried it. As I had to do here. Can't give something a better rating if I didn't use it.
