"Excellent"

February 08, 2006  |  By PraiseOfDeath

 |  Version: America's Army: Special Forces (Direct Action) 2.5

Pros

First off, it's free. Secondly, for anyone that has a slow internet connection it is available in CD form at your local Army Reserve also free. The game is very well put together with great graphics that run on even low end computers with a good frame rate. The training teaches you a lot about how some of the military recruits are trained in real life and helps you learn your controls before you jump into online play. Great game all around, download it, or if your net is too slow, go pick up a CD. If you're too lazy to pick one up then I wouldn't want you to play anyways :P

Cons

True, the training is a bit annoying being so long, but for the most part the training is optional. Only basic training is required, medic, spec.ops. Etc. are optional.

"Superb free FPS title, that has a good future"

February 02, 2006  |  By darkagent3

 |  Version: America's Army: Special Forces (Direct Action) 2.5

Pros

Super good graphics, and sounds.

Uses Unreal Engine, which later will be updated to the new 3.0 version which has even better graphics.

Plently of servers too play on, good anti-hacker support, also updated frequently.

Realistic game-play, and very fun to play.

ITS FREE!

Cons

The PunkBuster is quite annoying, takes time to get used to.

"One try and I was addicted I played all night. Couldn't get enough!"

January 25, 2006  |  By Zenthetic

 |  Version: America's Army: Special Forces (Direct Action) 2.5

Pros

Graphics are awesome for free

And Who can complain about a realistic and very highly animated gaame.

It not only helps you learn tactics in that game you also carry it on to other games. For instance Quake 3 arena is a first-person shooter and the tactics i learned helped me get even better than i was.

Cons

1 time it annoyed me but only because I wasnt good enough I kept dieing.

If ur reading this I highl recommend this game. Comments snap_creed@yahoo.com

"Good FPS"

January 23, 2006  |  By Miril Strike

 |  Version: America's Army: Special Forces (Direct Action) 2.5

Pros

The fact that it includes a lot of training is very nice, and it is all based on the real Army training. The guns and everything are portrayed as it should be with America's Army.

Seeing who is your enemy or not is very easy and simple. Every time you face someone, they will appear as OpFor and them vise-versa, so it is wasy to see who is your enemy.

I adore the map designs, especially Pipeline, since there are many good hiding areas.

Cons

The biggest cons are the fact that the grenade lauchers don't implode on impact when you shot in certain areas, this is very frequent, the same with RPGs.

Also, there are a few amount of people who actually play the game, so that is a minus also. Most of the people who do play however start using the MP cheats, which make the game no fun.

"Great Graphics, Sound annd Action, BUT...."

January 21, 2006  |  By 19sharpshooter

 |  Version: America's Army: Special Forces (Direct Action) 2.5

Pros

The Sound and Action is intense.

Cons

The movement does not let you use add on Controllers. Ex. "Logitech Controller" Only Mouse, Keyboard, Or Joystick.

The File is way to Big, PLUS it runs at 28kbps on my Cable Modem!!

Not to worry thou, i found a site that lets it run at 280kbps, gamedaily.com. took about 57mins.

Gotta beat the training missions for u can play it online.
