"What's not to like? It's great free protection!"
Pros: A one year full working free trial! You can't beat terms like that. Aluria Security System comes with the virus protection, firewall, and antispyware, all free. I am still in early stages of testing, but so far it seems equal to Norton, McAfee, Trend Micro, and others that cost $50-$100 or more. Try it, it's free. Just an added note for novice users...uninstall any virus protection that is currently on your computer because you should never run two of them or it could screw up your pc, big time! I give Aluria Security Cebter 5 stars and two thumbs up!
Cons: Doesn't come with anti-spam

"I had no idea my kids had so much junk on my computer"
Pros: I went to a meeting put on by the police department last night with my 13 year old daughter and 15 year old son. They talked about how to protect your computer and teach your kids about places like myspace. When I heard about this software and that it was free, I had to try it.
I'm so glad I did. I don't know what these other reviews are talking about. This downloaded fast and has not affected my computer. What it did do is find over 50 pieces of stuff I didn't know or want in my computer. I bank online and no idea what was going on. Who knows how much these programs know about me? My kids have been chatting away with their friends, downloading games from Lord knows where, telling who knows what to strangers. I had no idea, but I do now.
My computer is clean and I thank the police and the other companies from last night for opening my eyes.
This product was worth my time and I know it's protecting my kids and my information. It was easy to use and I'm telling everyone at my church to use it.
Thank you for doing this! I love my kids and will be at your next class to find out what else they're doing that I don't already know about.
G*d bless you.
Cons: I haven't found any yet.
Even if there are, it doesn't matter. The price was right and it's keeping my stuff private. That's all that matters.

"Thank You Fox 35 in Orlando!"
Pros: I heard about this on the news last night and this My Space stuff sounded pretty scary. Ive got two daughters and a son in High School and they've all got My Space accounts. I thought they were just chatting with friends. I had no idea that they were telling strangers about where we live and private details about our lives. I went to Fox 35's website and read about everything that happens on line.
I'm going to protect my kids. No more My Space. No more downloaded games. Not in my house.
Fox 35 said that I could get this software free for a year without any strings attached, so I tried it this morning. I also installed it on my work computer and am telling all of my friends about it.
It was simple to install and works great. I can't believe all these programs that showed up after the program scanned my computer. It didn't take too long and must have found at least two dozen things I've never head of. Best of all, those pesky pop up ads are gone. I hate those!
I recommend this to anyone who is a parent. If you are concerned about the privacy of your home and your information, you need to give this a try.
Fox 35, you're the best. If anyone from the station is reading this, how can I find out how to attend one of these programs about preventing online bullying and My Space protection? Your article online was great, but I'd like to make it to the next class with my kids, now that we're better protected.
Cons: I've only got two issues.
1. Both of my computers run just slightly slower, but it's hardly noticeable. My husband suggested that we start the program after we boot up the computer. I'll try that later.
2. I don't know how much this program will cost us next year, but if it works well and keeps our kids safe, that's all that matters.

"Great for those us college students short on cash"
Pros: First off, as a student of design, the interface is sweet, and very intuative. I downloaded this product, thinking it would be another "free scan" but it is a full-on application. I am a college student without much cash, so FREE is a good thing. I am always trying to purchase "educational software" because it is cheap, but there is no "educational version" of PC protection.
This is the real deal, AND, when I am making my online purchases of "educational software" I am protected now with this killer toolbar that comes with it, it protects me against identity theft (it lets me know when I am on a "questionable" site, NICE). I leave my PC on-line all the time, so I need protection. I have tried other protection software, but it is just a scan, they tell you that you have spyware, or a virus, and if you buy their product, you can eliminate it. So it was surprising that this product actually worked for more than a scan. It cleaned my PC. Now my PC works like it did when I bought it. Killer. Thanks for the freebie, glad I caught it when I did.
Cons: I am going to school for graphic arts, so I do use some memory-intensive software, Aluria's product does use some resources that slows down performance a little, but the protection is worth it. The other thing I didn't like was, when I installed it, it asked me for a registration number??? I called the number on their website, and (after going through several "menu's") I did actually talk to someone, and they told me that they had a problem with their database server?? but it was resolved now, they hooked me up, but I did waste quite a bit of time on the phone which really sucked.

Version: Aluria Security Center
Pros: Well this is interesting the app is an entire security suite including the majors - AV, Anti-spyware, FW, and it also includes ID theft protection from phishing attacks in a toolbar. It was easy to install too. Unlike another reviewer I did not feel like I was loosing privacy - the application did not even ask fro my email address to activate it. I also liked that I could schedule scans - I do not know of another free app that gives that away.
I gave it five stars because it is the first suite that is free.
Cons: I agreed with another reviewer that the app seemed to be missing anti-spam. I don't know if I care too much as my ISP gives me that.
