    "waste of time"

    October 21, 2009  |   By wxstrs

    Version: AllerCalc 2.11

    Pros

    absolutely nothing

    Cons

    useless error messages
    help function doesn't work
basic functions missing (or in any case impossible to find)
program disappears when you switch to another application and has to be relaunched!!!!!

    Summary

Somebody has clearly been flooding the site with fake reviews.
This is not an "awesome" product.
I wanted a power function but this calculator only offers squares and cubes. I'll just stick to Excel.

    Cons

    Summary

will give you everything you would ask in a calculator, but most of that you probably never use.. but its best to be over prepared then under LOL

"Nice but interferes with many programs."

    May 27, 2008  |   By TigrrrTamer

    Version: AllerCalc 2.11

    Pros

It has a multi-line display that shows the operations you are doing. You can customize the key colors so you can see them better than the default values (what kind of a retard thought-up light yellow on light grey background?)

    Cons

Some of my programs hang or do not start after I have used this program.

Paypal will not allow me to log in when this program is running (OK that's scary!).

I've had to reboot on rare occasions because of problems when it was TSR.

It is possible to load multiple instances of the same program accidentally if you forget it is already loaded.

    "spectacular replacement for windows calculator!"

    January 8, 2008  |

    Version: AllerCalc 2.11

    Pros

First, this calculator features true operator precedence, just like a 'real' store bought calculator (and unlike many of the simple, 4 function calculator downloads here on Cnet.). But there's much more; Allercalc is incredibly flexible, and includes a staggering range of functions and constants. Because it was designed as a teaching tool, you know that it's accurate; and even better, Allercalc is free for personal use (the publisher will accept donations through his website).

The key colors and sizes are completely user changeable, as is the display; so, even if you're vision impaired, you'll be able to use Allercalc. You can select whether you want to focus on finance or science; and you can even design a simpler custom interface, by eliminating unused function keys from the display. The screen shows a record of past calculations, almost as good as a tape display.

    Cons

On the minus side, the calculator is not 'skinnable', and the squared off look is a bit dated. The = sign is missing; in it's place is the EXE key, which will confuse occasional calculator users. And the scrolling display isn't as easy to use as a tape display, and will frustrate accountants looking for a paper tape replacement. But these are mere quibbles. AllerCalc deserves - and gets - my highest rating of 5 stars. It's a brilliant calculator, and deserves to be on every computer on the planet. It's that good.

    "Not worth downloading"

    February 3, 2007  |   By imrumana

    Version: AllerCalc 2.11

    Pros

    Lots of buttons

    Cons

No manual on how to use it. I've tried to use it as a financial calculator. I couldn't calculate anything except the PV on financial box. There was no instruction on how to use the calculator (not even on help option). Not worth downloading.
