CNET Editors' review
Ainishare Free Video Editor gives you most of the features you'd want in an editor, but its free version comes with some nasty add-on programs. In spite of that, this video editor is relatively easy to use and will be a great tool for amateur video editors.
We ran into five different add-on programs while installing Ainishare Free Video Editor and each one threatened to hijack our browser and home page, so be careful when you're installing. On the bright side, the program's layout is straightforward and will make rookies feel welcome, especially its opening menu, which took us directly to any one of the editor's features. Even though it doesn't really offer anything unique, the program gives you most of the features you'd want in a video editor. We can't complain about its performance, either. It quickly loads both SD and HD videos, can chop off parts of a video, crop the screen into a new resolution, and even add a watermark to your video with ease. Every video format we tested with Ainishare worked like a charm, so it's safe to say you'll be able to use it no matter what video type you're trying to edit. The program even includes a dozen or so filters that you can use to give your video the perfect look.
While the program doesn't offer too many features, which may make some power users balk, all of the features it does offer work well enough and are remarkably easy to use. That makes Ainishare Free Video Editor a fantastic program if you need to edit a video right now but don't know where to start. The only downside are the add-on programs.

"Works, but force-installs a bunch of crap."
Version: Ainishare Free Video Editor 2.2
The editing software itself works great. Nice, easy-to-use interface and powerful features in both wizard and advanced modes. If this software were the only thing installed (as I wanted it to be) I would have given it a much higher rating.
Despite being careful to decline as many offers as I could (and that was nearly a dozen), I still ended up with 5 programs installed that I did not want, but could not decline.
Uncheck, decline, and skip what you can, but if your install is like mine, the option to skip will be grayed out and unselectable for a big chunk of the programs, forcing you to either abort the entire installation or install the bundled software. Among the items force-installed were a toolbar that attempted to change my homepage and search provider, a packet-sniffer that attempted to change my network settings to allow outside computers to monitor my internet traffic, and a system scanner that tried to make changes to my system registry. I have uninstalled all of these (and 2 others that seemed more innocent) but am still wary of what other surprises this software may have in store for me. I imagine that these attempted changes were more for market research than for causing random havoc, but I advise caution nonetheless.
Long story short: the invasive nature of the forced installations and the use of those programs feels an awful lot like malware and could easily be used as such. I docked it a half-star for each of these programs.
"Didn't do what I wanted"
Version: Ainishare Free Video Editor 2.1
While installing, it closed my other programs without asking. It did not reboot, so I didn't understand the reason for killing the other progs.
Perhaps I misunderstood the description of Ainishare Free Video Editor, but, I had hoped that it would allow me to remove segments of my videos, similar to Windows Movie Maker, which, unfortunately, doesn't allow large-sized, edited, files, to be saved to your computer. As far as I can tell, it only allows you to segment in pre-sized/timed chunks. The interface may be too simple, in that no explanations are given for each feature. I gave it 1-1/2 stars only because it is possible that it may be useful, but, it wasn't to me.
"This program is one of the best editing of video files."
Version: Ainishare Free Video Editor 2.0
It performs various operations on the video file
The most interesting are the cut and assemble video file.
The work he does is well done and very fast and excellent quality.
During the installation, care must be taken as it tries to install toolbars and other programs, but it is easy to avoid it: it is' simply uncheck the appropriate boxes and choose the custom installation.
For me this is one of the best video editing programs and is one of the easiest to use.
"Installs way to much other junk!!!"
Version: Ainishare Free Video Editor 1.4
The program works for cutting a clip from the middle of a large file.
Installs to many other things, tool bars, scanners and such. the sound while watching the video in it don't match the video, but seems ok in the finished video.
It works but get ready to spend 15 minutes uninstalling other stuff that you don't want.
Version: Ainishare Free Video Editor 1.3
it can be uninstalled
installed bunch of their programs, and pop up are trying to sell you other things.
not for real
