"It could have been worse"
Version: Agnitum Outpost Security Suite Pro 7.5.1
Pros
May provide an acceptable level of protection according to some reviews. Tech support seems to work.
Cons
Didn't work for me.
Summary
Istalled it on my computer. Windows Security Center was still giving me a red shield. It detected Agnitum-Outpost, but said it wasn't turned on. Clicked the "turn on" button. "Do you trust..." - "Yes, I do". Nothing happens or changes. I open Outpost - there's a green line across the top, everything's "optimized" and in a "Learning mode" - all's good. E-mailed tech support. While waiting, started a quick scan. In just a few minutes it detected 4 ugly trojans, and the scan was far from being over. I didn't believe it. Prior to it I had KIS2011 - according to it the computer was completely clean. And finally popups - I tried to launch Ashampoo HDD control. Outpost asked me THREE times in a rows if I trusted it. Luckily, when I was closing it I was asked only two times. Although tech support was rather quick - wrote me back in about 4 hours asking: a.If my Vista had SP2(yes, it did) and b. which mode the UAC was working in(I don't know, would you?). Anyway, it was too late by then - I already uninstalled it.
