Version: Agnitum Outpost Firewall Pro 2.5 (375.374)
"First rate firewall, but not without some issues."
Pros: Superb firewall for filtering data - especially outgoing! Plug-ins allow control of: ads, pop-ups, cookies, refferals, java, active scripting and more! The logging capabilities are excellent as well. Overall, very difficult for any kind of trojan malware to penetrate this firewall's solid defences.
Cons: Thank you Liam,_Last_One_Standing for pointing out a problem that I encountered a month ago regarding Outpost's inability to handle Webroot's Spysweeper. Indeed, the firewall will block all Internet access when you launch Spwsweeper, but there is a fix as follows: Under "Options" select: Application | Components, then de-select: "Block network access if memory was modified by another process". This will resolve the problem but, unfortunately, at the slight cost of better firewall security because now if a trojan attempts to modify your pc's memory, the firewall won't detect it! Furthermore, I don't know if this is a Spysweeper issue or Outpost's issue, but I do think Outpost should be able to resolve the problem by allowing trusted applications to modify the memory. Unfortunately, when I emailed Agnitum customer support, they just gave me the work-around I stated above!
Finally, the other issue is that it doesn't handle XP's Fast User switching very well either, as sometimes it will block Internet access when switching between different users, requiring the firewall to be shut down/restarted to regain Internet access. If Agnitum can just work out these two bugs, they'll easily have the best pc firewall on the market.

I do not deny your claim that you are having conflicts with Outpost and Spy Sweeper. The only time I see Outpost blocking access for Spy Sweeper is when I am shutting down (I keep Spy Sweeper running all the time for it's active features). So personally, I have no issues with this because I am shutting down anyway. I am running a 3.06GHZ P4HT system with 1GB of RAM, so having Spy Sweeper activated continuosly is not a problem for my system. Just out of curiosity, have Spy Sweeper run at start-up and keep it activated (if you have a newer system). In the Outpost application settings, I have Spy Sweeper set to partially trusted with a pre-set rule of download manager (for getting updated definition files)and everything seems to work fine. On my system, it does not block access for memory modification by Spy Sweeper until I shut down, which as I stated above is not an issue. I also want to say that I agree with you that Outpost is THE BEST firewall PERIOD.
