"No control over startup or quitting program"

ASC has been a great product, and I've used both the Free and the paid version. It's the first program I go to when I start having computer programs.
Cons
ASC 6 "Ultimate" starts up with Windows, whether I want it to or not. I do not used ASC for antivirus. I only want it to run when *I* want to run it. I see no place to exit, or quit the program, either, not even in its own Startup Manager!
Summary
I've already paid for the latest and greatest ASC, primarily because I think developers deserve compensation, and I've used ASC for years. I've always been able to turn off the "startup with Windows". That is no longer an option, according to their own support forums. Now I get nagged—sometimes more than once a day—nag to update the ASC antivirus database, even though I've turned off the antivirus feature, which I do not want to use.
I'm really disappointed in iObit over this. -

It does what it says it will do: it sped up my computer and resolved some minor program loading issues as well as security issues.
Cons
Hate that pop-up that comes up asking for a paid upgrade whenever I start up my PC.

There's nothing about the "new" version that's any different than the old. Nothing to make you drop your other programs in favot of this one. Good thing its a free program, cos if they charged more for the new program, we'd all get ripped off. When a company says "new advanced program", you expect to get that, not more of the old one! New or old, its still the exact same thing!

Frequent error messages for no apparent reason. Software runs on windows startup even when specifically told not to. When trying to update program, unwanted software was installed without permission. This program also doesn't seem to do anything useful, it's certainly not worth paying for.
Summary
I couldn't find anything positive about this software after using it for a couple of months. I found it aggravating and not at all useful.
