"Terrible only by COMPARISON to RegZooka"

    March 27, 2011  |   By chincoteague

Version: Advanced SystemCare Free 3.7.3 (1223)

    Pros

It's free. You can easily turn off programs to boost performance. It is very transparent, so it's obvious what to do as far as settings and options.

    Cons

In my experience, while it did find a few registry errors, it did not truly fix them as it continued to find them every day... even with the Pro version. My PC still ran slow and often glitched a bit worse.

    Summary

When people post a 1-star review, some are able to "articulate" their experience, while others "articulate" their anger. ASC never crashed my computer nor did it lock it up. I purchased the "Deep Scan" capability of the Pro version, but was never satisfied because I still had issues with my PC... in fact, I had more issues.

Now, since I am not a computer geek, I, like most users, have to rely on CNet and other users to help me find things to try, and then I have to rely on the company selling the program (for profit) to deliver what they say they will deliver.

Now, ASC does show it found errors and "fixed" them... however, I have discovered that "fixing" errors is a statement somewhat akin to how the world manipulates statistics... you can make anything true with the right angle.

So, my 1-star rating is based on my discovery of an independent software review of numerous registry cleaners. I have tried them all and had nothing but headaches and crashes and the same issues.

So, when I read the RegZooka review, I was skeptical but I did try the Free Scan.

I had just had my ASC Pro Deep Scan and fix of the same 47 errors it seemed to find every day. I ran the RegZooka Free Scan and it found 637 ERRORS!!!!

I sat there stunned. I hesitated to purchase it, but I felt like 637 errors required some action.

The factor that swayed me was not just the RegZooka "100% Fix Guarantee" but also the reviewer's affirmation that RegZooka did in fact deliver a 100% fix during testing... and the mention that RegZooka is the only registry cleaner to offer a "100% Fix Guarantee."

The rant from the consumer about how great ASC is and how 1-star-posting consumers are "idiots" is full of "statistical proof" of how ASC worked for him... however, his review reads like what gamers call "Nerd Rage."

So, let me educate him and others on what the average user / consumer wants... they want their computer to be "plug-n-play" and run without issues... after all, we have cars that see around curves and smart bullets... so our decades-old computer technology for PCs should deliver us those simply requirements.

That applies to registry cleaner software. Users want something to find and fix the issues that are the result of how other programmers wrote their code and how PC code simply grinds and gnashes teeth with other PC code... we know this is true, because we have the issues from these registry errors that come with install and uninstall. etc.

People don't want to hear excuses about why something is not working and how it is not ASC's fault. What they want is for the product to make their computer faster and better... and when that does not happen, all they know to do is share what happened to them.

So, to help out folks, I have shared my experience with ASC and how it did not live up to what I needed and how I rated it as a 1-star product because I came across RegZooka... which, in less than 60 seconds, scanned my computer, found 637 errors, and in less than 60 seconds, fixed them.

FIXED THEM 100%... meaning the next day, and the day after, etc., I had ZERO errors.

Now, nether program slowed my computer while running / scanning. However, ASC did not improve my computer because it became more "glichy" but what would you expect if it's only finding the same 47 errors each day and obviously not fixing them since they keep reappearing with every restart? If you yank the scab off of a healing wound, it simply bleeds and scabs back over.

The RegZooka found and fixed... truly fixed... my registry and my computer performance is like new fast... and runs clean and smooth.

So, I have no choice but to recommend RegZooka, and down-rate ASC. Free is wonderful... but not always the answer.

I hope this helps people like me who want to buy a product and have it work as advertised. This review reflects my personal experience, which has been mirrored with many friends who tried ASC, and later, RegZooka based on my experience.

    "Wonderful Free software"

    March 27, 2011  |   By jrhsr64

Version: Advanced SystemCare Free 3.7.3 (1223)

    Pros

Does what it is supposed to do, easy to use, upgrade available. NOT like others, it removes, fixes and optimizes not like others who scan your system and only fix 1 or 2 errors then prompt you to buy it to fix the rest. Good software. Try it.

    Cons

Does its job, medium speed to complete tasks scanned but, does good job, haven't had any problems yet with it. Sometimes you might have to run free version twice to totally defrag computer files if you have a lot but, it's a good download for free.

    Summary

Good software, easy set up and one touch operation. Does what it is supposed to do. I give it a 9 out of 10 rating. Worth a try.

    "Works As Advertised"

    March 27, 2011  |   By padzamp86

Version: Advanced SystemCare Free 3.7.3 (1223)

    Pros

Does a good job of cleaning system, removing most spy-ware,Adware,get the Disk Defragmenter to go with it. Easy,no worry, never had a problem. I upgraded for $10.00 to pro. Does a little better job,I Think, and no nagging upgrade popup.

    Cons

The Nagging popup to get you to upgrade is much more annoying than it was in previous versions.I really think it needs to be deleted after the second time, or a way to turn it off permanently,Besides paying. I think FREE should really mean FREE !

    Summary

It works good. Finds MOST Spyware and Adware. I also use Malwarebytes Antimalware on occasion for bad malware. REMEMBER This IS NOT an ANTI VIRUS program. Be sure to use AVG,Avast,or Norton,Or whatever antivirus.I have Comcast with free Norton's antivirus.I actually prefer McAffee, but I use what my internet provider prefers,as a free antivirus. Also Mozilla Firefox browser.

"One button takes care of most problems before bedtime.."

    March 25, 2011  |   By Ragspirit

Version: Advanced SystemCare Free 3.7.3 (1223)

    Pros

Extremely simple to use... just one button tunes up the system pretty well...

    Cons

Random prompt to upgrade... which means the computer may stay on all night long just waiting for a response when I wanted it to shut down when it was complete.. Did not like that.. BUY ME, BUY ME prompts all the time.. annoying... a BIG con....

    Summary

Attempted to upgrade once but had problems doing that... Have not attempted to upgrade since... When I calm down.. I may try again...

    Pros

The registry cleaner cleared out stuff that no other cleaner i used found, and the spyware cleaner is really good, Theres lots of options and the interface is easy to get through,

    Cons

The pop up of the full version that you can buy pops up too much, but its not a big deal, its worth it for such a very good free program

    Summary

Does a great job cleaning up the registry and picking up spyware, and there are a lot of options and a great interface

"Best Iv'e seen as a Profesional Techo of 25 Years +"

    March 25, 2011  |   By cossee

Version: Advanced SystemCare Free 3.7.3 (1223)

    Pros

Easy to use for the Average PC User, No complicated Interface and above all, "Safe for Novice Users"

    Cons

NONE that I have seen, I have never seen any Errors or Damaged systems caused by ASC.

    Summary

I have tried most all Free App like ASC for over 20 Years, They all promise the World but fail to deliver and in some cases cause more Troubles for Home users, none come close to even the Free ASC. I install the Free Version on all New PC Systems I sell or carry out Service Repairs on with good feedback, In 90% of customers they update to the Pro Version.
