"should have listened to LSZ1318 above, it is a scam!!!!"

    April 26, 2013  |   By maryannr2

    Version: Advanced Driver Updater 2.1.1086.14563

    Pros

easy to use, good features, quick. potential to be a great piece of software if only............

    Cons

Tech support is NO support! Only trained to sell you more useless software! scan results not accurate or up to date. program says drivers downloaded and installed successfully, but when double checked in device manager, nothing has changed. so it lies too!

    Summary

chat is never working, and when you call the 800 number prominently listed, you get someone who does not even speak ENGLISH very well.the email response is quick but useless. they will tell you that to analize your problem, whatever it may be, that they must get into your computer, which will require that you download yet another program so they can get in. after which, they will not even look at the program itself, but go on to run your command prompt and use it to run some bogus scan in an attempt to show you how many errors your computer has. and then give this as the reason for your problem, whatever it may be. at this point they will tell you that in order for the program to work properly, they must first "fix" your computer of these so called errors. and if you don't fix them they will continue to multiply. the "fix" will take a couple of hours, BUT they will do it for free this time. after which you must purchase yet another one of their programs to keep it clean and safe. did I mention that this "other" program will cost you only $150.00 for one year or $250.00 for two years of use? What a Scam. DO NOT BUY! The program is a waste of time and money. AND IN MY OPINION, SO ARE ALL DRIVER UPDATER PROGRAMS! you would do better going to the mfg. sites and updating your drivers yourself. but only if you really have a problem with a certain program. if not then don't worry about drivers. you cannot trust the scan results. you must double check the results against your device manager. And you will find that it lists drivers for devices that do not even have drivers installed in the first place. and the drivers it offers for the ones that do need updating are not even the latest ones. as I said, you could do better yourself. these so called programs are supposed to save you the hassle of doing all this, but they don't. so, if it ain't broke, don't fix it! SAVE YOUR MONEY! BTW i asked for a refund and got it. but i told them that I would write about them everywhere i could weather they gave it to me or not. we must all watch each others backs. for if we do not, who will. it's a dog eat dog world. and everyones out for blood. keep your hands on your wallet and learn from other peoples mistakes. as i said, i read the previous review and did not listen. and this is what you get!

"Systweak Updater Engine used by several vendors"

    March 22, 2013  |   By Randy Bell

    Version: Advanced Driver Updater 2.1.1086.14563

    Pros

This one by Systweak works so well that it is used in WinZip's driver updater and in Raxco's PerfectUpdater. It is obvious if you install those products, they are using the Systweak updater engine. So that should tell you something, that these other vendors, who make good products, consider Systweak's product to be of superb quality. And I agree.

    Cons

About the only negative I can think of is, if you have several identical devices enumerated in Device Manager, say USB Hubs - sometimes Systweak will repeat the same identical driver download; when one download, applied to the identical devices, would suffice, thus saving the time of additional redundant downloads. But that is a minor concern, otherwise the product works very well.

    Summary

The advantage of updating drivers is to add functionality, speed and stability to your system. The database of drivers which Systweak draws upon is huge; and seems to always find the right driver - the latest, most current STABLE driver. Remember, drivers must be adequately tested before they can be declared safe and stable for all systems to use. Systweak seems to download safe, vendor specific drivers that WORK. Highly recommend.

    "Kudos, Systweak !!!!!"

    Version: Advanced Driver Updater 2.1.1086.14563

    Pros

I have installed programs, Advanced System Protector and Advanced Driver Updater. These have been a life saver for me.
My computer was so slow and bogged down. After running the Advanced System Protector my computer acts like new again.
I also had another Malware program on my computer which, when ran, found no malware.
Advanced System Protector found four issues not previously detected.
Using Advanced Driver Updater I am now updating "ancient" drivers, some of which are 6 or more years old.

    Cons

    None to speak of..!!

    "A Sales Scam"

    January 15, 2013  |   By rstanleyg

    Version: Advanced Driver Updater 2.1.1086.14563

    Pros

They do seem to find the relevant drivers.

    Cons

"Tech Support" is the problem! It is a sales gimmick to try to convince me that I must have their Tech guy spend four hours on my computer to eliminate the evil work that some "Programmers" did to my computer. This evil work, they said, will cause my computer to crash or, at best, to give me a blue screen or maybe a black screen. When I checked out the thousands of "errors" they discovered on my computer, these were such things as an indication that my registry was busy. They seemed temporary errors, but not permanent ones. Then when I asked for some free support as had been promised, she said she could not offer that.

    Summary

The program isn't bad, just not great. Right now, the program is downloading drivers written in Asian letters. I can't read them. The support couldn't or wouldn't help, and is downright dangerous to the wallet.

    "COMPLETE SCAM"

    January 3, 2013  |   By LSZ1318

    Version: Advanced Driver Updater 2.1.1086.14563

    Pros

There's nothing good about this software.

    Cons

Program stops working. WRETCHED tech support full of SCAMS.

    Summary

Bought this program. It worked for a month or so then an error message saying I'm not connected to the internet. Called tech support and they first need to connect to your PC via a screen sharing tool. I agreed. Instead of fixing the problem, they immediately pulled up Windows log saying that I had 50,000 errors due to a malware spider. They then brought up a system tree from the command prompt which - at the bottom - said that I had 12,000 corrupt files. When asked if this was preventing the software from running, they wouldn't answer - only saying that I needed better protection and they could help. LOL. Meaning I had to buy something. The 12,000 corrupt files message was COMPLETELY BOGUS and the RESULT OF THEM RUNNING A SMALL BOT APP THAT ADDS THAT MESSAGE IN A WINDOWS COMMAND PROMPT STRING. lol. Windows command will never show you that kind of message. The 50,000 error message that they said was the result of a spider? Completely false and totally misleading. Those errors were simple registry errors due to any number of non malware issues such as outdated drivers (ironic, lol). The whole gist of these 2 events was to get me to purchase new software. Not once during the conversation did they even attempt to fix Advanced Driver Updater. When I offered to get one of my company IT guys on the phone so that they could explain the malware issue, they hung up. THIS COMPANY IS A COMPLETE SCAM. STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS.
