    "Why use Adobe Reader on a Mac when you can use Skim?"

    Pros

    Adobe Reader lets you read PDF files.

    Cons

    Adobe Reader doesn't have all the useful features that Skim has added. Adobe Reader crashes while Skim doesn't crash.

    Summary

    All in all, I prefer Skim over Adobe Reader. I see no use in using Adobe Reader on my Macbook Pro. :)
