Pros
Adobe Photoshop Elements is like a Lite version of Photoshop CS. In addition to being cheaper (you can buy it new for 100 dollars as opposed to 400-500 new), it's more user-friendly. The undo command is easier to get used to in this program, and it's got a nice user interface.
Cons
If you're looking to use this for drawing, be forewarned that it lacks the Pen tool that some people find paramount. Theoretically you COULD spend another hundred or so on a graphics tablet, but who wants to do that? If you really want to use the pen tool, then you'll either have to get CS or possibly Paint Shop Pro.

Major scrolling issues when trying to edit without using a window! The mouse will just take of scrolling at super-speed when you get near the edge. I can't believe they released this with such a major issue. Very annoying. Also, seems to run slow for the hardware it's on.
