    "Good for vector art"

by JoyceNgo on January 21, 2008

Pros: I learned to use this in school, and although they don't teach it properly, I still found use for this product since it's very good at illustrating (thus the name Adobe Illustrator), very easy to use and has the idea of Photoshop except more artistic tools for creating vector images and turning photos into vector images.

Cons: I haven't found much use of this since most use of this product is to create vector images and to color in photos. The price is pretty high for something that doesn't do that much.

    "great"

    by im_on_crack8 on September 3, 2006

Pros: I consider Adobe's Photoshop one of the top programs ever made... Illustrator is up there because it is very similar, but whereas Photoshop is setup to manipulate image files, Illustrator is setup to create them. When it comes to a graphical arts program, I dare someone to find one that beats Illustrator with the amount of options and features. Plus, because of it's popularity and integral design with other Adobe products, there are a ton of support/forums/pluggins/addons/chat rooms/books, etc available for this product.

"The "big poppa" of Windows graphics programs"

Cons: Only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is because it costs $500. There are other graphical programs that are free which are starting to get close to the usability of Illustrator.

Pros: Obviously difficult to master but a tremendously powerful program once you learn.
