You can summarize it with a single word - crap!
Recently I noticed that some time after a Flash update the Mac sound system mutes (everything - alerts, iTunes, Safari, Audio Midi ... everything) with no fix but reboot. The period of time might be a few hours to a couple of days (I am not sure exactly what triggers the mute). It happened with the recent 3 or 4 flash updates, Did anyone noticed that too?
Please someone flush the flash from the surface of the earth and the internet (and Adobe too while at it).
If I could install it, i might have a 'pro'
tried installation twice and 'no dice'
tried n times and installation failed n times. maybe El Capitan doesn't like it.
don't waste your time.
None! Everyone hates you, read above.
Fix these problems, above, and everyone will love you and give you more stars.
Isn't love a better thing!
There are NO "Pros" here, period
Endless and innumerable updates for a product that is an absolute necessity for web video SHOULD have been made to actually work correctly, and should have been incorporated into the Mac OS (and ALL others) LONG ago. Adobe is the most grasping and greedy software developer on the planet, followed closely by Apple (I've been a Mac-only user since 1989, and their price/performance numbers have been going down the crapper ever since).
Says Adobe: "...highly expressive client runtime that delivers powerful and consistent user experiences" I don't know what Adobe flack pulled "expressive" out of his chuff, but it's meaningless. The one thing the blurb got right is "consistent user experiences": Adobe Flash is completely egalitarian -- it sucks on EVERY platform and EVERY browser. After all these years, Adobe Flash is still buggy, incapable, and unstable -- thus the constant stream of updates.
Why can't Apple (and all others) and Adobe sit down together and hammer out an agreement to make Adobe Flash integral with every major OS and every major browser. It either has to do with profit, or Adobe's inability to write code. Since Adobe makes Photoshop -- now more expensive than ever, BTW -- a mountain of an app that would take a proficient user 1000 years to even half-explore all its possibilities, so we know Adobe has (or maybe HAD) code writers who know their stuff, but no released version of Flash or Flash Player has been anything but an amateurish kludge more buggy than its predecessor. Nobody reads these comments anyway, so this is just blown' in the wind, but it's a miserable and too-oft-repeated intrusion to have to update Adobe Flush overtime I start up. GET IT RIGHT!
Not so much a pro but it is often required so I guess we just have to put up with it.
Often won't install. When it does install there are constant updates. Always seems to be suffering from security issues.
I wish this buggy, insecure piece of junk would just go away so we could get on with better alternatives.
worked fine 3 years on mini mac, till Adobe began blacking out videos and instructing me to download 16.0, which I did. Nightmare from then on.
All the ways Adobe tells me to INSTALL Flash wind up at a dead end. Even the checkmark "Let Adobe install for you" doesn't work. I can't believe, after 28 years using a mac, that one company, with one program, could bring my computer to it's knees. Have spent many hours looking for the answer. I need help here! I'm 82 years old and love my mac, and all macs I've had before. Somebody?
Seems to work, when I finally got it installed.
Download was unable to upgrade/delete the previous version. I went back and forth to Adobe's Web site, always coming up with the same unworkable solution. I eventually had to god through my files, manually, and delete, manually, everything related to Flash. THEN it was happy to install, as a new installation rather than an upgrade.
Be VERY wary of downloading this.
I have 12 installed. I don't recall ever having a problem with any of them. Installation problems??? - It should be a no brainer automatic install, as Mac systems remind you of updates . . .
I don't know of any.
It never occurred to me that it would be a problem, especially with so many of the "reviewers". I have to guess there is something wrong with their Macs . . . .
None. If it doesn't work consistently and properly, then it ain't worthy of any stars. CNET...you need a minus-star above.
As with some many other reviewers, my MacBook Pro "hates" Adobe Flash Player. After repeated downloads over many months...it never has worked properly. Will hang up in the system, will not let me "allow" the Mac to load it, will disappear from the computer mysteriously. I think Mac hates Flash so much that it spits it out like a bitter pill.
Since Flash (and Silverlight player, forget it, it's Microsoft) are the only two players that Amazon Prime streaming video accepts, you might as well cancel your subscription to Amazon video streaming on your computer. The folks at Amazon should raise holy heck with Adobe AND Apple to get their heads out of their butts and settle their differences.
