"Adobe Software is Crap!"
Version: Adobe Dreamweaver
Pros
There's not a single pro.
Cons
Unable to install software because of bugs in CS5.
Summary
I have tried everything that is listed on Adobe's forums and customer support knowledgebase. Notihing has worked, I've uninstalled CS5, used the Windows Installer Cleanup Unitility, used Revo Uninstaller Advanced feature, restarted my PC so many times that I've lost count.
The software gets to about 21% (installsing CS5 Infrasturecture) and then craps out. It gives an error which according to the forums is a generic error. So, I installed the Adobe Support utility. It scans and finds two errors. It tells me that the problem is that there was a conflict between the CS5 installer and another program on my comptuer. I click the link that is supposed to bring me to the knowledgebase to give me more details. The only thing it tells me is that I need to close whatever program is conflicting with CS5 installer.
What the hell is that? I was under the assumption that this tool would scan and diagnose the problem. I didn't need to install their support advisor just to tell me that a program is confliting. I knew that there had to be a conflict somewhere.
It would have been more helpful if the program could actually tell you what program was conflicting. THe log files sure didn't say anything about a specific program.
In my opinion Adobe has gone to crap and is neck-and-neck with Microsoft. I even had a recent issue with updating Adobe Reader. It kept giving an error about permission on a registry key. Once again I went through every step mentioned and nothing worked. From now on I refuse to use any product that is Adobe. I'm currently look for a replacement of Flash. I've already replace their oh-so-bloated PDF Reader. -

"Lots of features, complicated to use"
Version: Adobe Dreamweaver CS4
Pros
Lots of features, lots of tutorials available You can see and alter the html easily.
Cons
Adobe never make user friendly programs! so it takes a while to learn to use it. I find myself using other programs and then importing the basic website into Dreamweaver to finish.
Summary
ITs used by a lot of people so there is a load of stuff out there on how to use it etc.
Just as well as you need to view a lot of tutorials!
ITs very expensive.
I prefer wysiwyg web builder! -
"Dreamweaver - pain in the a**e"
Version: Adobe Dreamweaver 8
Pros
Eventually, you may build a website
Cons
Incomprehensible and difficult to use
Summary
The program is not intuitive. It uses terms without explaining them. The tutorials are boring and long-winded with videas that you can't even see properly. It's an over-complicated program with little real guidance. This program is NOT for those who are not professional IT people. I can handle raw html, codes etc., but I find Dreamweaver a pain in the backside. I have now tried 3 different versions and it gets no better.

I learned this software from scratch from a book and was able to create a very nice website without learning extensive HTML. The program has a fast learning curve and is intuitively set up. It coordinates nicely with other Adobe products.
