    "I love Bridge"

    June 20, 2010  |   By nanajana

    Version: Adobe Bridge CSS 4.0.2

    Summary

I don't know what some people are complaining about. I don't love Adobe but I find Bridge extremely handy. Just drag a folder of photos on it and voila, I can look at them, weed out the trashy ones and change the names. I was so happy to receive it with PS Elements 8.

    "The sinking ship"

    August 3, 2008  |   By jarlaxle.merc

    Version: Adobe Bridge CSS 2.1.1.9

    Summary

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
Adobe Bridge is an absolute embarrassment, it represents all that is so wrong with Adobe today. I have no idea why they waste their time developing this slow cow. Maybe this pig shines on a Windows-based machine, but on a Macintosh it comes across as incredibly absurd. I have no idea how anyone can stand this company anymore, we should all be demanding more from Adobe or support viable alternatives.

This update diding do anything other than to say it had an error trying to find which application it needed to update. Geezz, if it can't what Adobe it needs to update, then how do you know that it's doing the right thng when it does?

Forget this update and save yourself wondering what happened.

    "Works for Me"

I like CS3 version of Adobe Bridge. It loads up and works well for me. It allows me the flexibility to create my own files and then looks at all the pics as I don't always rename them in a timely fashion.

    "Free apps? Not!"

    June 1, 2007  |   By WhiteDog

    Version: Adobe Bridge CSS 2.1

    Summary

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
What free apps duplicates the functionality of Adobe Bridge? Without a name for us to compare it to your criticism is just noise.

As for Version Cue, it's not a part of Bridge alone but is integrated with the entire CS3 suite. Removing any one of the apps in the suite will not remove Version Cue. If you don't want it or need it - and I don't - it's a simple matter to disable the Version Cue Startup Script in Bridge preferences.

Bridge can run slow on older Macs if you access folders with hundreds of images. But it's snappy enough on my new Mac Pro. If your hardware isn't up to the job, don't buy software unsuited to it. On capable machines Bridge is an excellent file management tool; in conjunction with Adobe Camera Raw it is comparable to any number of expensive alternative applications - and doesn't cost a dime extra.
