"So painfully slow and crashes"
Version: Adobe Acrobat Reader 10.1.1
Pros
None a waste of time.
Cons
So painfully slow, it now take more time than before. It eat my memory. It now refuse to open some of my pdf files. What's it the point of this software but to waste time. Shouldn't software get better not worse?
Summary
A piece of rubbish, don't waste your time unlike you like frustration.

"Abysmal. The worst software I've seen in 40 years."
Version: Adobe Acrobat Reader 10.1.1
Pros
Absolutely none.
Cons
I signed on here just to give this review after trying all afternoon to just open a simple map of 2 Megs. I got the message "Please wait while the document is being prepared for reading." - for half an hour, time and awful time again. Seriously, I need to open and close pdf files rapidly to keep efficient in my work, and this piece of crap just doesn't do it. It is incredibly bloated, and has had a ton of problems since I can remember, and they're getting worse. Constant updates, files that don't open, computer grinding away all day. I finally pulled the plug. I went to Foxit, and the SAME FILE OPENED IN LESS THAN 2 SECONDS!
Summary
I wouldn't put my worst enemy's name on this product (well, maybe I would), so I can't figure out how Adobe can think this miserable excuse for a program is acceptable - at all. Just think if Adobe fired everyone from the janitor on up to the Board Chairman they could actually save some serious money.
Get Foxit, and at least you can pass the IQ test. See you on the sunny side. -
"Installer is PATHETICALLY slow, even on a fast machine"
Version: Adobe Acrobat Reader 10.1.1
Pros
Same great Adobe Reader.
New default hidden controls take a bit of getting used to, but are nice I think.Cons
Installer is PATHETICALLY slow. Adobe, much like Realplayer used to do, takes this opportunity to throw a TON of crap on your system that you never asked for. I have other Adobe programs installed, and from what I can tell by watching processes and file operations active at the time of install, Adobe conveniently used this installer to update those as well. Either that, or something to do with reader X was involved with nearly all of them.
Summary
Good program...terrible installer.

"POS DO NOT USE"
Version: Adobe Acrobat Reader 10.0
Pros
None - complete garbage
Cons
This is a downgrade from Adobe Reader 9.4.
Mind numbing slow.
Does not open many PDFs
E-mailing a PDF is now a chore.Summary
Adobe needs to scrap this version and go back to version 9, improving that. This is one of the worst "upgrades" I have ever seen. Someone within Adobe should be canned for this (and I'm not pointing the finger at low level coders). The work of an empty suit, no doubt.

"a piece of crap. I start it and the screen goes black"
Version: Adobe Acrobat Reader 10.1.1
Pros
if it worked it would be a valuable tool. Read the problems file on the adobe site. How on earth could any software manufacturer put out something with this many problems. If you have a problem your recourse is to go to their site and look at the forum. Try it. It takes forever to communicate with and within their site. It is really crazy that an industry standard is supported by someone that really appears to not give a crap.
Cons
If it worked I would have plenty but bits and pieces working does not mean the package is working. As I said in line 2 above the screen goes black then it comes back but all the icons have changed colors. When I exit the pgm the screen goes black again and the icons change back to the correct color.
