"It will work with Microsoft Office 2007"
Version: Adobe Acrobat Professional 8
Pros
This replies to RebEZ1 above. My copy didn't work with MicroSoft Office 2007, coming up with an error message stating that the file type (e.g., .docx) is not recognized. I contacted Adobe Customer Service, got a Customer Number and then contacted Adobe Support. The solution is in downloading and installing their upgrade, which is free. But be aware, the time to download and install it with the mandatory computer reboot will take more than 45 minutes. But when done, you'll find an "Adobe" tab with the other tabs at the top of your programs and can easily create the PDF files.
Cons
It would be nice if the program allowed you to convert graphs back to Excel.

"Try Nitro PDF Pro lah..."
Version: Adobe Acrobat Professional 8
Pros
I guess it's still the best PDF editor around. But...
Cons
The install takes a long time and takes up 1.7GB of your harddisk space. Why in the world does it require so much disk space? (MS Office Pro 2003 only takes up a few hundred MB.) It is also very expensive at US$449. So people are going for the popular alternative - Nitro PDF Professional. It takes up only 40MB of disk psace and can do just about most of what Acrobat can or what the average PDF user requires. And it's only US$99.

"Doesn't work with my Office 2007 Install"
Version: Adobe Acrobat Professional 8
Pros
Probably works great in earlier versions of Office
Cons
One would think spending $450 for a software package would mean it is fully compatible, but I found out it doesn't interoperate with my Office 2007 the hard way and it is not going to be fixed for some time. Meanwhile, I downloaded Docudesk deskPDF and it has all the toolbar icons in place and does most everything I need...

"The original, but takes up too much space..."
Version: Adobe Acrobat Professional 8
Pros
Well... this is THE PROGRAM for converting to .pdf files. Adobe invented it so...
And sure it is a great program. You can create pdf:s, protect your pdf:s with passwords, make your pdf-documents unprintable, uneditable and so on.
You can do practically everything there is to do with a pdf-file.
The good thing about this prog. is that you've got it all in one application.
Cons
The BIG cons of this program is that it takes 1 GB of diskspace !!!
I've tried the pdf995-serie which takes about 1 MB and does exactly the same thing as Adobe Acrobat. But then you have to run 3 different programs to finish the file (1 to convert to pdf, 1 to edit and 1 to password-protect etc.)

"fantastic!!!!"
Version: Adobe Acrobat Professional 8
Pros
I love the fact that I can create PDF files and not only that, i found by accident that I can merge exel and word docs so that they look like they came from one document - have not had time to really review the whole programme but it is great for me.
