"Adobe's update process is abyssmally flawed"
Pros
When it works correctly, Acrobat is fabulous.
Cons
Adobe imposes so many system-level restrictions that it is impossible to do simple things like updates. When every previous patch worked fine and the current one doesn't, I shouldn't have to reinstall the entire application.
Summary
Adobe licensing is a perpetual stumbling block. Uninstall an app without first deactivating the serial number, and the reinstallion can't be done. The result is that Adobe has to send a separate app to clean out all the residual data before the reinstallation can be done and, on more than one occasion, the original serial number did not work, requiring more intervention by Adobe. So that notion that a non-working patch might require jumping through this many hoops is decidedly user-unfriendly.
