"Redaction at Last!"
Version: Adobe Acrobat Pro 11.0.07
This satisfies a problem I have had for some time, the need to be able to redact a block of text. Previously I emailed my .pdf to work where I have Adobe Acrobat Pro provided by my employer. Now finally, I am settled with another similar tool named PDF Editor for Mac without having to pay $450 to Adobe:
Now I can split my healthcare EOB's 1 claim per file at home, so the filename encodes each claim with date, doctor etc.
Having to pay $449 to Adobe Acrobat Pro
Compared with Nitro PDF Pro and PDF editor for mac , this Acrobat Pro Xis much cheaper while providing a complete PDF solution: creating, editing and converting PDF files.
"Couldn't even download the trial version"
Version: Adobe Acrobat Pro 11.0.07
Unlike all the other .pdf editors of which I have tried the 30 day versions, this one makes you download a "download assistant" to help you with the download. It started twice and part of the way through each time it stopped and told me to check my broadband settings etc. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me but that's the last chance you'll get. Typical of the Adobe experience, and this was not even a very large file. Vote with your feet IF you can find some effective .pdf editing software elsewhere (and if you can PLEASE let me know).
All I wanted to do was to edit .pdf files of past papers from my daughter's GCSE maths exams and change the numbers to create new questions. All this would need was some software which let me edit the text in the document and also the text within tables and graphs. Please point me to a software application which will do this. I don't mind paying for good software - that's how the best software engineers make their living. However, at the end of the day one has to tell potential buyers that these engineers are definitely not earning their crust when they product an application like this which cannot even download the product which might make them money.
