"maybe too good ?"
Version: Adblock for Chrome 2.5.19
Pros
I've been using Adblock with Chrome for a year or so... I recently ditched it because it was preventing my "weatherzone" site from loading.
Went back to "Adblock Plus" Beta and problem solved because now "Weatherzone" is opening quickly with no problems at all. Maybe it's not as aggressive as "Adblock".

So this is why I'm saying, is "adbock" too good ?Cons
My opinion ?... "Adblock" is maybe to efficient and slows or prevents some sites from loading.
Summary
Much prefer the old "Adblock Plus" Beta

"Not impressed"
Version: Adblock for Chrome 2.5.19
Pros
Free software
Cons
Very difficult to find where to download, even using CNET. Having eventually found and installed it I still kept getting adverts. Following instructions I tried to get rid of them using a link only to find it blocked all Facebook. Certainly not easy to use
Summary
I will either manage without or look for something better.

"CPU hog. A real drag on older PCs."
Version: Adblock for Chrome 2.4.29
Pros
Does what it says. Can't complain on functionality. The author says he gave up his job for this and even posted a picture of himself and his wife when you click the link on the options page. er Wow.
Cons
Uses too much CPU. Between 1.5 to 2X more wait befor e the page completes. Not recommended for slow PCs.
Summary
OK for fast PCs but a real drag on older slow computers.

"AdBlockPlus for FireFox is good"
Version: Adblock for Chrome 2.4.6
Pros
Looks and acts pretty much like it does in Firefox. I use it there (in Firefox).
Cons
Has appropriated the name "AdBlock" instead of using AdBlockPlus, leading to potential confusion among users of AdBlock.
Summary
AdBlock - which is available for both Chrome and Safari, but ISN'T AdBlockPlus, nor "AdBlock for Chrome" - is written, maintained, and updated by one person. He's made it his full time job.
AdBlockPlus is open source, which the Linux folks will assure you is a good thing. No problem there. ABP is a well-developed extension.
However, without saying "AdBlockPLUS for Chrome" (caps mine), it easily generates confusion - and, entirely possibly, downloading something which wasn't the objective of the downloader - for those looking for AdBlock, a Chrome extension.
cnet's failure to distinguish between the two is an unprofessional oversight IMHO, particularly by referring to this as Adblock without the "plus" qualifier. Indeed, the developers' website is adblockplus.org/en/chrome, and clearly shows the "plus" portion of the name. For cnet to exclude that information is confusing.
Otherwise, it does what it claims... -

Version: Adblock for Chrome 2.3.27
Pros
Removes almost every ad, even in Flash applications like Pandora and GrooveShark!

Version: Adblock for Chrome 2.3.18
Pros
It does the job hassle free. Most importantly on Facebook.

I wish when it removed the ads from yahoo mail It would free up the space on the right side.
Summary
If I had access to paypal I surely donate for this excellent job.
If you wanna see how amazing adblock works just pause that from the top right button in a website to see how much ads are blocked by that.
