"Wouldn't think of using FF without it!"
Pros
A must have add-on for any Firefox user. Easy addition of filter sets depending on your language and location. Web pages will load faster since the ads don't have to. Ability to create custom filter rules. Ability to disable ABP on web pages where you want to see the ads.
Cons
No ad blocking software is 100% infallible so ABP will not block everything on it's own. Sometimes you have to create your own filter rules. There is another add-on for Adblock Plus that makes this process much simpler (see Summary).
Summary
Ads on web pages could be a thing of the past if you use this add-on. It's not too difficult to configure and use it but creating your own filter rules might be a bit daunting for some. There is another Firefox add-on called "Element Hiding Helper for Adblock Plus" that helps fill that gap. Using ABP and EHH together is the best way to go. With this setup I was able to eliminate every single ad and unwanted elements from my Yahoo home page.
