AdCheck allows users to quickly and easily open and view TIFF/IT files using a standard Macintosh computer. Users can then zoom in on a specific portion of the document, measure it in order to obtain the precise size information needed for production, and then qualify, inspect and print the document. The Grid function allows users to put an electronic prepress grid in front of the document automatically. AdCheck's easy-to-use interface makes all the features available from a single tool palette. A Show Info box provides detailed information on the document being displayed including resolution, file size and colors found in the document. The TIFF/IT (Tag Image File Format for Image Technology) file format was developed by the American National Standards Institute, Inc. (ANSI). It is intended to smooth prepress workflow by making images simpler to exchange and transfer electronically between publishing companies, printers, advertising agencies, color separators, prepress bureaus, designers and photographers.
