  Pros

  with years of experience with computer security, Ad-aware use to be good. Back in 2010 and down, it use to have good detections and good compatabilities.

  Cons

  Ad-aware, as of 2011 and up, ad-aware got new license owners for their software, and have been proven to be rogue software. The first notice to this is it compability issues. Use any AV, and you will experience internet problems, system crashes or freezes, and massive slow downs. Another notice you will see is alot of false positives. Adobe, Java, Avast, Ccleaner, and a few other software are still being reported as false positives up tiull today. Despite all that, its detection ratios are low. Don't believe me? Look at this: http://www.lavasoft.com/mylavasoft/securitycenter/blog Look at the number of definitions they bring in and each of them are measured only daily. You can see the dates they were inputted, aswell. Now compare that to other programs like Super antispyware or Avast and tell me if that's even good at all.

  Summary

  This is Rogue software. I am warning you about this. I don't know if that makes it definitions good or what, and I don't know if its even worth keeping the 2010 version and down. I advise removal of this and get something better.

  Thank you for your post. Unfortunately since Ad-Aware 10 is a full fledged AV without the capability of turning the AV off it is not compatible. Ad-Aware 11 will be compatible with all other AV's on the market. For the false positives you are reporting concerning Adobe & Java this should not occur as we all have Adobe and are running AA 10 without any issues. If you see this issue you again please use the link I have attached to notify us so we can fix the issue you are encountering.

  As for the definitions, these are updated a couple of times a day every day.
