"Quiet, unassuming program that gives great results..."

    May 12, 2011  |   By Astonmichaeldevilla

    (1) Sped up my down loads. (2) Easy 2 understand for an idiot like me? No nonsense security. Seeks out danger and removes it quickly...I really love this FREEEEEEEEE!!! program...thankyou very much Cnet..very much appreciate this freebie..

Only Con I can find with this is it doesn't seem to have one of those parts in most of these programs that tells U whether a site is safe or not b4 U open it..U know what i mean? I'm a dope when explaining!

In the Cons box I didn't explain it properly..When I google someth & I get a list websites, etc? U know most progs have a green tick or red X next to each sites address? Says site is safe or dodgy? I haven't found anything like that on this Ad-Aware program. Maybe it's just me. I really would be grateful for any assistance from U good ppl if I'm missing it thru my own stupidity. Atm I have to use an old McAfee siteAdvisor..If there is a siteAdvisor on the Ad-Aware program then any help in finding it would be gratefully received..Thankyou again for this great little Free!! love a good cost me 9MB's..ahahahahaha..Love your site btw CNet..Great easy to understand advice for eejits like myself..I'm not exactly computer literate..hee,hee!

There's an easy - and free - solution to you problem: the Web Of Trust (WOT) - Internet Explorer: or Firefox: (and for Chrome, Safari & Opera at their site -

Also, add these two additional free apps to your machine for a much higher degree of protection: the Secunia PSI - and WinPatrol -

With this "layered" approach to security, you'll be good-to-go without spending a cent (and these apps play well together and won't bog your machine down).
