  Pros

  Performed a deliberate and effective scan.

  Cons

  Slow download, slow installation, slow definition update, and slow-slow-slow scan. The results of the scan were quite impressive, but it is not obvious how to selectively keep the ones that are not malware while deleting the rest. I ended up taking a shot at it but I ended up deleting a program I had just installed last week. I am pretty computer literate but this program breaks down at the end. I wish it were better because the detection part of it is superior.

  Thank you for your post. The download and installation should have been done in under 5 minutes including the updates for the definition files. Where did you download from and what internet speed are you using to do the download? As for the initial scan yes this can take up to 4-5 hours as this is the first scan Ad-Aware will run.
