"It is working OK as I only had it about a month"

It is unable to updating on Anniversary Edition 8.0 with my Vista operating system.. I have another computer with Windows XP operating system that working OK. every 2 days it has had updating. I followed Lavasoft instruction to fix it but don't work

Does seem to run faster and found two bad boys on my system that Ad-Aware 2008 did not find.
Cons
1) Must run in background 24/7 even though free version does absolutely nothing
2) GUI is fuzzy and obscurely controlled
3) Bullied into updating due to 2008 version crashes nowSummary
Have been happily using 2008 since it came out. The day AE was available (after clicking past the EXTREMELY annoying "Update Now or Later" promt), current version crashes each and every time. Cannot update Definition file without launching app two or thee times. Scanning requires re-launching app at least twice.
CORRECTION: Ad-Watch Live says it is blocking malicious processes that try to start. I have not had any hits on that yet and do not expect to.
Not happy with Lavasoft's new approach to earn $$. Have been using Ad-Aware for nearly 10 years and was going to purchase for live coverage but now considering just uninstalling for good.
New users will most likely be happy. Long time users will be disappointed and frustrated.

New Complaint: In all previous versions you could easily click on each problem Ad-Aware found and get detailed info. If this is still possible I have not found how.
A count of how many problems it finds is completely useless to me unless I know what they are. Please correct me if I am wrong.

- Does what its supposed to, has kept me safe for a long time.
- Like the active scanner as part of the free versionCons
- Buggy, and have to mess with compatibility/run as admin settings for certain executatbles to get it to update properly.
- Install was also quite buggy, took a while for installer to load -

This program used to be good in the past. It worked well when it was used with spybot.
Cons
49 mg to download, wants to load memory resident program, stops updating itself after a few scans and more important, it doesn't catch S#$% besides cookies when it scans your system.
Summary
The old version worked great, not a memory hog scanned fast. This new version lost its effectiveness. Save yourself time and wait for a newer version to come out fixing the problems that they know about instead of giving you solutions that do not work.
