"Installs easily, Works great, might have compatibility issues"
Version: Ad-Aware 2007 7.0.2.5
Pros
Easy tool to use to identify spyware on system.
Cons
First time I used the program it hung up. Could have been a compatibility issue with either Diskeeper 2008 or Advanced Window Care Pro which run in the background on my system at times.

"top echelon anti-badware app"
Version: Ad-Aware 2007 7.0.2.5
Pros
ad-aware works and its free, if you run this baby with the likes of avg, spybot, and comodo firewall then you have yourself a well protected fortress aka your computer. why pay money for one antivirus app when you can build your self an A-team of free reliable programs that will keep you safe and more- just dont over do it and get too much antispyware programs or you'll cause some compatability issues and slow down your comp. these few programs including ad-aware will take care of every angle of spyware protection without compromising your computing power

"THey Killed their tool in one stroke - by upgrading"
Version: Ad-Aware 2007 7.0.2.5
Pros
I have had this awesome tool for over 4 years as the ONLY primary virus cleaner even though I bought McAfee, and Norton. I loved it all along even though the free version did not have automatic scheduler and other great apps.
Cons
Somehow, after downloading the SE1R210 definition file (dated 27th december 2007), newer versions are not being downloaded - In one of my machines, even that version is not being updatable. As such, I was compelled to upgrade to the newer version -
And CNET is really correct in saying that the update manager sucks beyond compare - It just runs and runs and runs .... I had to kill that app after an hour and then restart it - then get a message "No updated components" - What - Now i dont know whether the definition files are updated or not. Basically, this problem keeps happening everytime I run this -
Defeats the very purpose - What good is a virus cleaner that dies on getting its most recent definition file ?
It is no good even if it is free - Out it went - on all of my machines - Very Very sad to uninstall it - No wonder it went to the 2nd spot
I got the AVG ...

"I trust AVG -- had them for over two years when I had Satellite Service."
Version: Ad-Aware 2007 7.0.2.5
Pros
It "seems" complete, and it often Highly Recommended by others I ask for advice. Seems to cover all the bases and the SCAN TAKES OVER TWO HOURS, SO I WOULD ASSUME THAT IT IS COMPLETE (never assume anything, right ?) Still, I've never had a problem with TROJANS or other viruses in two years, so I am reasonably satisfied. And, again, even the DSL people and others recommend AVG over tired Norton or McAfee.
Cons
Why must the scan take over two hours ? Wow !

"Quick + Easy = Great Product!"
Version: Ad-Aware 2007 7.0.2.5
Pros
This is a great program. It seems to run pretty fast in the scanning mode. I love the fact that it also shows you how many entries of each virus/bot/etc it has found, as well as reporting cookies.
