Version: Actuate BIRT Report Designer 1.0.1
"Finally, a good report framework for Java development"
Pros: * Easy to use and powerful report creation
* Drag and drop from palette to create a layout
* Smart charts (coloring based on marker values)
* PDF and HTML output
* POJOs (scripted), JDO, JDBC, Hibernate, ... data sources
* Responsive support
* Fully integrated with Eclipse
* Lots of examples, tutorials, and online help
Cons: * Installation is a bear (they have promised to fix this soon)
* There are still some bugs here and there (though they are responsive via newsgroup, bugzilla, and email)
