    "Amazed with ATI9"

    June 21, 2006  |   By Churabra

Version: Acronis True Image 2015 9

    Pros

This is an absolutely incredible product. I've been a Gh**t user for well over a dozen years. Long, long before Roxio and Symantec bought it. My original was on a 5.25" DOS floppy.

After 5 minutes with the TI-9 evaluation version, my Gh**t days are done. TI-9 does everything I've dreamed I wanted to do with this type of product . . . and I'm a hard-sell.

I've always understood that you simply could NOT backup Windows while running due to open files. Hence it was mandatory to image only while in DOS. However, somehow TI-9 seems to do it just fine. I don't understand it, but I like it!

"NTFS Support Not held through out the design of the product!"

    June 14, 2006  |   By danielos2

Version: Acronis True Image 2015 9

    Pros

Pros are that it is a good file backup program, and it is a good restore program has better tools then Windows XP restore. Ease of use, more power, Somewhat!!

    Cons

What I do not like is that it does not carry its support for NTFS file system in its design throughout, if you have a system failure and can not bootup and have to bootup from a disk and have a need to restore your system,Acronis True Image 9 changes your partition to Fat32, Fat12, FatExt1, and so on, so that when you try to bootup your restored backup, it is corrupted and zonked. But at least you have your files you say, but hay, I had them to begin with befor going threw all the hoops.... I was not happy with this product, they should have made it with NTFS support for access to your drives and your backups that you make with thier product on your system, for what it does not do, I will save my $49.00 and be happy with my Windows version of Restore and Backup as either they do the same in the long run that I need, when my system is down and nothing lets it bootup, or repair just reinstall again, or use somthing that supports NTFS file system for access. "Prefer the software that really works and supported!"

    June 9, 2006  |   By Herundy

Version: Acronis True Image 2015 9

    Pros

After checking several programs, I decided to try Acronis True Image 9.0 Home. With a lot of fear and trepidation I ran the program and backed up the C drive. The clear interface (one of the things that attracted me to the program over the competition) made it simple to select the source and destination drives, set all the options I wanted. The program worked perfectly and in a few minutes I had a backup file of my C drive on my D partition.

No matter what irregularity I encountered with Acronis True Image or what question I had, Acronis support team was able to address it immediately, and most importantly, successfully. Having dealt with a number of software firms, I can say with some certainty that this exceptional level of customer support is by no means an industry norm. No other firm I've dealt with has ever had a staff so concerned that their product works flawlessly in the customer's system.

They maintained their composure, didn’t make any nonsensical recommendations such as replacing my hard drives (as Symantec exclusive support did) and were civil.

A company is only as good as the people who represent it to the customer.

They should be commended both for their exceptional technical abilities and their intensive focus on customer satisfaction.

Both the quality of Acronis products and, in particular, the quality of the support team are major factors in my decision to purchase more of Acronis product line.

    Cons

There were several misunderstandings that have been clearly explained and solved by Acronis Support Team.

"Looks good, but does not function"

    May 25, 2006  |   By playsw

Version: Acronis True Image 2015 9

    Pros

    Easy menu and usability

    Cons

Disk clone to a new hard drive and restore from hard drive backup to a new drive gave me the same error. I had never been able to past the booting phase with the cloned hard drive. A blue screen showed a serious hard drive failure even though I check the hard drive which functions well.

    "It's a high quality product"

    May 19, 2006  |   By Cappriccios

Version: Acronis True Image 2015 9

    Pros

I wanted to say how impressed I am with Acronis TrueImage product. I have been struggling with Ghost for a few years now and decided to try True Image last week. It has been an outstanding success. Easy to install and easy use for backup and restore. As I said, I used Ghost, but my friend advised me to try Acronis. It turned out, that this program creates backups faster and it has more convenient nterface.

I don't often write "testimonials" but I felt I had to let you know how great I think this product is.

    Cons

Wanted to write that True Image does not support direct DVD-writing, but have noticed on their site that a new update fixed this inconvenience. However, I have not tried it yet.

    "My choice!"

    May 12, 2006  |   By Lunkaz

Version: Acronis True Image 2015 9

    Pros

Several days ago my hard drive went bad and was about to die. I borrowed a bootable CD with Acronis from my friend. He said it was very good and reliable software.

I imaged my system and the next day, the drive crashed. I plugged in a new hard drive and recovered the image. The whole process took about 20 minutes and voila! I have my system exactly as before! It was hard to believe that this could be so easy.

I had never used any backup software and was afraid that it would be difficult to deal with it. But Acronis is very simple. I bought the copy today for my personal use and decided to drop this comment.

    "Way to go Acronis!"

    May 12, 2006  |   By Lapare

Version: Acronis True Image 2015 9

    Pros

Well, I might be lucky, but I have never had any frustrating experience with Acronis True Image 9.0: neither a crash, nor a glitch. I use this program to make a full image of my HDD and backups of separate partitions with OS and apps. It's cheaper and works faster then Ghost. If you want to make a simple backup it has the highest level compression.

It's also a wonderful solution if you need a disk to disk backup. True Image almost automatically transfers everything from one drive to another.

I hold in high respect this software. It saved me much trouble. I didn't have to reinstall Windows with all my apps!

    May 3, 2006  |   By Chrisrjcox

Version: Acronis True Image 2015 9

    Cons

As others have said. The install requires an internet connection to register...register a trial version? Anyway I have a internet connection, but it still fails with a message, "Faild try again later"

"True Image-The Bloody thing really works!"

    April 28, 2006  |   By Asknet

Version: Acronis True Image 2015 9

    Pros

It is so refreshing to find a product that works as it was intended and THEN SOME!

I've used True Image to back up files and it's done an exclellent job.

When I wanted to put a larger hard drive into my notebook, I was curious if the True Image Clone function would pass the Microsoft Software Validation test when Microsoft compares their Windows installation with the computer's internal config.

Well, I formatted and cloned my outboard drive. Then I installed the outboard drive into my notebook.

Gadzooks! It booted up just fine and recognized the new drive with all of my old data on it.

This entire process took about an hour and 1/2 with an hour being spent doing the automated cloning.

    Hats off to Acronis!
